City Hall, Newport Beach, Cal. August 21st, 1916.
The Board of Trustees of the city of Newport Beach met in adjourned
session 7:30 P.M. date and Place above sho=.
President Jumper called the meeting to order and the roll was called
showing there were present trustees;S.R.J=p '

Various communications were read and referred to proper order of
business..
rustee.Robinson of;the Gas committee reported that the Southern.
Counties Gas.Co had purchased the 2" line formerly owned by the ;lest
Coast Gas Cc between Huntington Beach and the Newport City limits,
and advised,that as we were thru with the leased line in the city
that the Clerk be instructed to notify the Inter Counties Gas Cc
in compliance with our agreement to begin to remove said pipe line.

Ordinance No. 125, heretofore referred to the cit;
L torney being ank Ordinance entitled:
11'An Ordinance of the city of Newport Beach, a municipal corporation
f the sixth class, incorporated under the laws of the State of Cal-
ifornia, ordering the submission to the qualified voters of the city
f Newport Beach the.propositior_ of incurring a bonded debt for the
purpose of the acquisition and construction in the city of Newport
Beach of a municipal improvement, as set forth in Resolution No.58
of said city, to -wit:
A Jetty composed of stone and of adequate dimen-
sions, and also the acquisition of the necessary real property upon
which to construct and maintain said jetty, and calling a srlecial
'lection for that purpose; reciting the objects and purposes for whit]
' he indebtedness is proposed to be incurred, the estimated cost of tha
rorosed public improvement, the amount of the principal of the irideb-
�tedness to be incurred thereforx, and the rate of interest to be paid
on said indebtedness; fixing the date on which such special election
will be held, the manner of holding such election and the voting for
or against incurring such indebtedness, and providing that in all par -
ularlars not recited in this Ordinance, such election_ shall be held
as provided by law for holding municipal elections in the city of
Newport Beach."

hhiioard of trustees declared the same passed and adopted and thereupon.

NEI;' BUSINESS; Ordinance No. 126 being an Ordinance of the city of
Newport Beach levying a tax upon all the taxable property in the city
1f Nevmort Beach which is taxable therein for municipal purposes for
the fiscal year of 1916 -17, came to its first reading. The same was
considered and passed to its second reading, and referred to the city
attorney to be put into proper condition for final adoption by this
board.
