Special .�ati.igof the Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach was called to order at 7:30 p.m.,June 19,1917,at the City Hall,with Pres.H.A.Robinson in the chair. Roll CL11. On calling the roll the following Trastees responded "Present ": L:.n.Robinson, J.J.Schnit .rer,Geo.P. °.'ilson, J.C,.I.icCain and J. ".Greeley, :absent !!one. Ro dies of Call. The call was read and the Board proceeded to the order of busin( embodied in the call,viz: The drilling of a new well,and considerati( of matters concerning the establishment of a canning factory. Re_.:ort'of later Com.:irttee. Trustee Greeley,Chairman of the *.7ester Com.iittee,reported the giving out of the casing in the city well,and introduced the follow -' ing resolution: Resolved that the Board of '.rustees of the City of New✓;ort Reach advertize for bids for the boring of a 14 inch well to an approximate depth of 400 feet; also for bids for approximately 400 feet of No.12 iron casing,all bids to be opened on I.Ionday,July 2,at 7:30 p.m. The above resolution was carried by a motion of Trustee Greeley, seconded bj Trustee Schnitker,and full vote of the. Board. . :oved by Trustee Schnitker,secouded by Trustee ''Iilson and carried that the =tter regarding the securing of another engine be placed in the hands of the ;later Committee and later Superintendent. Reading L;.nd Disposition of Co!a.;unications. Com._anications were read and disposed of as follows: that of I the Fox Film Co.asking permission to erect two tents on strip of lama lying north of Block 6,East Ne,-iport was acted upon favorably by the Board,permission being granted by motion of Trustee J.P.Greeley, seconded by Trustee J.C.L:cCain and carried. It was moved by Trustee Greeley, seconded by Trustee Schnitl:er c:nd carried that the invitation of the South Coast Improvement Assoc. to attend their regular meeting and luncheon at the Balboa Palisades Tavern,Friday evcning,June 22nd. be accepted. Roved by Trustee J.J.Schnitker,seconded by Trustee J.P.Greeley and carried. that the Board of Trustees grant to John ;Iilson permission for the use of 24th St from LIe•, )ort Bay to the laeoterly side of i'ew -1 port t_ve.for railroad purposes and overhead tram providing same is I constructed in height according to State Laws; also permission for the use of an irregularly shaped piece of ground on the westerly sid of 1,e,:)ort Ave.,said piece of ground being 10 feet ride on southerly) extended line of 24th St.,and being of such shape as to form in con -1 Junction with C. fractional portion of Lot 1,Sub.Div.of Block 227, Sec. A,a rectangular piece of ground 10 feet wide by 40 feet in length and being bounded on northerly and southerly ends by the vresterly extended northerly and southerly lines of 24th St.,said piece of ground to be used as a loading platform by Jolla Filson in connection with his fish canning factory to be located on Block No.324 of Lancaster Add.to the City of Ner:nort Beach. It was moved by Trustee Geo.P.71'ilSon,ccconded by Trustee J.J. ,chnitker and carried that permis.,iou be given to .Ir..Horace Little to tear down a wharf in front of her property. -Ldjournment.
