City-Hall,Newport Beaeh,Calif.,Septembe'r 12,1917.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach met at 7:30
p.m. at the place and on the date above mentioned.
President H.A.Robinson being absent,Trustee J.P.Greeley presided as
Chairman pro.tem. and instructed to call the roll. The same being
done the following Trustees responded "Present ": J.J.Schnitker,
Geo.P.wilson, and J.P.Greeley. Absent,H.A.Robinson and J.C.McGain.
Reading of Communications.
The communications were read.
The letter of John m.Rankin regarding deeding strip of land on Bay
Ave.to the City was referred to the City Engineer.
The request of I7.E4.Ledbetter & Co.for a thirty day extension of time
on their contract for building the jetty was granted by extension
from Aug.19 to Sept.10 by motion of Trustee Geo.P.1,7ilson,seconded by
Trustee J.d.Schnitker,and duly carried.
Petition asking for the dredging of a channel from the pool in crest
Newport to tide water was referred to.the City Attorney,by motion of
Trustee Geo.P.Wilson,Seconded by Trustee J.J:Schnitker and carried.
The invitation of the Chamber of Commerce of Santa Rosa to the ieiunic
pal Officersof the City of Plevrport Beach to attend t..e 20th aoilual
Convention of the League of California idunicipalities,Sept.24ch to
30th.was accepted by motion of Trustee J.J.Schnitker,seconded by
Trustee Geo.P.Tiilson,hnd duly ca °ried.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS.
"It was moved by Trustee J.J.uchniLker,seconded by Trustee :eo.P
Jilson mad carried that the City Engineer, consulting with the Street
Com,alttee,be instructed to outline certain boundaries for the expend•
iture of money foY• dredz;ing,and furnisli data to the City yti6iney.
It was moved by Trustee Geo.P.1.7iison,secoiided by Trustee J.J.
achnitker and carried that the City '_'.ngineer be instructed to prepar
boundaries :for disincorporaLing a certain ;portion of the City of
Nevrport Beach near the westerly city limits and furnish data to the
City Attorney for him to prepare petition.
