City Hall, Newport Beach, Dec. 12, 1921.1
The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach met in
adjourned session at 7:30 o'clock P. I.I. on above date. The meeting,
was called to order by President Greeley.
The roll was called as follows: Present, Trustees Greeley,
Schnitker, Wilson, Richter, Burke. Absent Trustees None.
The minutes of the previous regular meeting of Dec. 5, 1921
were read and approved.
Treasurer Lew H. Wallace reported the Committee expected a
communication from the Pacific Ranch Co. as to what they would do in
regard to the right -of -way across their property for water line, but
as it had not been received the Committee was continued for final
report.
The communication from the Southern California Edison Co.
was read and filed.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS.
The C &mmittee appointed to sell the $80,000 Water Works Extension
Bonds presented an offer from M. H. Lewis & Co. of Los Angeles for
par and accrued interest, we to pay the Attorney's fees as to the
legality, which they would advise accepting.
On motion of Trustee Schnitker seconded by Trustee Wilson
and carried, the aCtXoh..of the Committee was approved, the Bonds were
to be sold at private sale and were awarded to M. II. Lewis & Co. of
Los Angeles, California.
On motion of Trustee Wilson seconded by Trustee Schnitker
and carried, the City Engineer was instructed to furnish the City
Electrician with the data necessary to enable him to make up his
report on changing our present lighting system to the serial system.
N&I BUSINESS.
This being the day and hour fixed for opening bids on a
Ford Chassis for the garbage truck, the Board in open session opened
examined and declared all sealed bids received, which bids are as
follows:
George Dunton of Anaheim, complete rig, - - - $613.00
Knox & Stout of Santa Ana, It 11 - - 581.03
On motion of Trustee Burke seconded by Trustee Wilson and
carried, the bid of Knox & Stout was accepted and his machine
purchased.
On motion of Trustee Schnitker seconded by Trustee Wilson
and carried, the meeting adjourned Sine Die.
