All agencies notified. 3 spill booms - deployed. A second excavator deployed two days At '' later (tide dependent) to lift the other out. This will add some delay to the project. Dredging equipment (dump scows and clam shell) are being mobilized and work will begin soon. Dredging —Lower Newport Bay NewFields submitted their final draft sediment testing report to the Dredged Material Management Team (approving agencies) for review in December. Some concerns still exist about the Mercury levels even though the testing has proved that toxicity does not exist below a certain amount. We do not want to delay the EIR / MND process which is, in turn, dependent on the Port of Long Beach window for material acceptance.
