SUBJECT: OLD FORD ROAD - ADOPT A RESOLUTION LIMITING THE PARKING
OF VEHICLES TO TWO HOURS
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt a Resolution limiting the parking of vehicles to two hours between 8:00 a.m. and
6:00 p.m. daily on the south side of Old Ford Road, from Mesa View Drive to a point
300 feet easterly.
DISCUSSION:
• The Newport Hills and Harbor View neighborhood residents have indicated their
concern with the parking of vehicles in a turnout area, located on the south side of Old
Ford Road near Mesa View Drive. It has been noted that vehicles are parked in this
area for extended periods of time, and many of the vehicles are posted with "For Sale"
signs.
This turnout area has been used.in the past as a school bus pick -up location, and as
overflow parking for Bonita Creek Sports Park. The posting of a two -hour parking limit
will eliminate the long term parking of vehicles and return the area to uses more
conducive to the neighborhood.
Environmental Review:
Staff determined that the project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act
(CEQA) pursuant to Section 15378 of the Guidelines. The action is not considered to be
a project as defined by CEQA.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH LIMITING THE PARKING OF
VEHICLES ON OLD FORD ROAD TO TWO HOURS
BETWEEN 8[OO A.M. AND 6:00 P.M.
WHEREAS, Section 12.44.010 of the Newport Beach Munlcipal `Code
provides, among other things, that when authorized signs are in place giving notice
thereof, no person shall stop, stand or park any vehicle between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to
6 :00 p.m. of any day for a period of time longer than two hours, upon such streets or
portions thereof as the City Council shall designate by Resolution; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to limit the parking of vehicles as follows: .
1. South side of Old Ford Road — from Mesa View Drive to a
point 300 feet easterly. •
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach that the parking of vehicles between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
shalt be limited to two (2) hours on the street herein designated.
