Classes will begin the week of January 8, 1996 and run through mid March. These classes will join our long list of quality program opportunities that are available for participants wishing to enhance their leisure and educational pursuits. 0 Dates and locations are still being determined. n u a� 1 , LJ Petanque Courts The game is a French version of boccie ball. It is easy to learn, easy and fun to play- -and is open to men and, women. All levels of players are welcome to use the courts located at San Joaquin Hills Road at Crown Drive North. If you're a beginner, come learn how top play, there will be someone there to teach you. As an added bonus ... you might learn to speak French. For more information call Mike Hirsh at 640 -0045. Fee: Free ongoing "Goal For It" Women's Soccer This unique sports program is designed for the woman who enjoys competitive sports in a non - competitive atmosphere. Participants will learn basic skills, rules and fundamentals of the sport, and enjoy playing games. This class is geared for fun, exercise and camaraderie. Instructor: Patti Wagner. Fee: $35 (8 -week session) Personal Development- Modeling (Teen - Adult) Enhance your self confidence by learning the correct techniques of good posture and proper walking skills. In addition, proper skin care, make -up tips, and basic modeling techniques will be taught. Instructor: Carolyn Clarke is a professional model who teaches self improvement skills to young women who wish to develop ,poise, grace and • confidence. Fee: $55 (4 -week session) CHILDREN'S CLASSES "Goal For It" Kid's Soccer (3 1/2 -5 yrs) In this parent participation class, children will have fun learning basic skills of soccer. The emphasis of this class will be placed on the enjoyment of the game, sportsmanship, and team camaraderie. Instructor: Patti Wagner. Fee: $35 (8 -week session) I Love to Paint (4-6 yrs) Children will explore the wonderful world of painting using tempera and water colors. This class will emphasize creativity, expression and basic color theory. Students are asked to bring a paint smock and a box of Prange water colors (8 colors) with a brush. A $5 material fee is payable to the instructor at the first class. Instructor: Jackie Borthwick. Fee: $50 (6 -week session) I Love to Draw (4 -6 yrs) Get them started out right! This class will begin to teach basic drawing skills in a positive creative environment and helps to develop fine motor skills and an artist's eye. The goal is to make art an enjoyable and successful experience so children will continue to feel • good about themselves with regard to art. A $5 material fee is payable to the instructor at the first class. Instructor: Jackie Borthwick. Fee: $50 (6 -week session) a�- Sunflowers and Mudpies (3 1/2- 5 yrs) • Somethin's cookin' in the kitchen and growin' in the garden. Help turn your toddlers into jr. gourmets (the p.b. & jelly type) and watch their green thumbs grow. Learn to make gummy worm pudding, luau salad, plant sunflowers and much more. A $15 material fee is payable to the instructor at the first class. Instructor: Kim Rossi. Fee: $55 (6 -week session) See is being negotiated) • • 13 Children's Chorus (5 -11 yrs) Students will learn to listen to each other and work with their own voices to develop a beautiful tone, confidence and an appreciation for beautiful music. Regular performing opportunities will be available at the studio and throughout the community. Repertoire includes traditional and contemporary music styles. Instructor: Pacific School of Music and the Arts, 151 Kalmus, Suite G -1, Costa Mesa. Fee: $ 65 (5 -week session) Etiquette for the Younger Set (6 -9 yrs) Learn how to win friends and influence people. Course topics include: manners for concerts, telephone calls, eating and restaurant behavior, personal introductions, traveling and sports events.
