TITLE: Cultural Arts Activities for August 2015

Concert on the Green: On Sunday, August 23, the Kelly Rae Band presented an evening of high energy
country and western music on Civic Green to a crowd estimated at over 2,000 attendees. The Britain's
Finest – Beatles Tribute Band show on September 27 will conclude the City’s annual concert series.
Shakespeare by the Sea: The Tempest, cancelled due to inclement weather in July, was staged as a
make-up date on Tuesday, August 18, in the Civic Green at 7 PM. This rain check performance was
provided at no further cost to the City. Attendance was estimated at 300.
Fine Art Exhibitions at Central Library:
Local artist Richard Bohn exhibited his show,
Eccentric Concentric. A reception, with 50 guest
in attendance, was held on July 20 in the
Friends Room.
The following artists are scheduled for
exhibitions in the Central Library gallery space:
September/October 2015: Ting-Ting Lee
November 2015: Joe Lewis
December 2015/January 2016: Charlotte
Lerner
Sculpture Exhibition in Civic Center Park: Staff coordinated the installation of the sculptures with Rick
Stein of Arts OC, Rebecca Ehemann of Green Public Art Conservancy and Dave Aeppli of display. The
Grand Opening ceremony scheduled for September 12 will feature docent tours, refreshments, and
children’s activities.
