RLSOLUTION OF INTENTION N0. 3458
A RESOLUTIOV OF INTEITION OF THE, CITY COI i*JCIL
OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH DECLARING ITS
INTENTION TO ORDER THE CLOSING UF, VACATION
AND ABANDONMENT OF PORTION OF CERTAIN ALLEY
IN BLOCK 14, TRACT 2349 CITY OF NEWORT BEACH,
COUNTY OF ORANGE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach, pursuant
to the provisions of the "Street Vacation Act of 1941", approved
May 131 1941, Statutes 19412 Chapter 250 and amendments thereto,
being Division 9, Page 31 Chapters 2 and 39 Sections 8320 to 8331,
inclusive, Streets and Highways Code, does hereby ordain, resolve
and declare as followss
SECTION—As That the public interest and convenience
require the closing up and abandonment of a portion of a certain
alley in Block 14, Tract 234, in the City of Newport Beach, and
it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach to order the following described portion of alley in said
Block 14, Tract 2349 in the City of Newport Beach, County of
Orange, State of California, to be vacated, closed up and abando
towits
All that portion of that certain alley 20 feet
in width in Block 14, as shown upon a map of Tract
234, recorded in Miscellaneous trap Book 13, page 369
Records of Orange County, California, and more part-
icularly described as follows, towit:
Beginning at the most southerly corner of Lot
15 of said Block 149 thence northeasterly along the
southeasterly lines of Lots 15916917 and 18 of said
Block to the most easterly corner of said Lot 189
thence southeasterly in a direct line to the most
northerly corner of Lot 19 of said Block 14, thence
southwesterly along the northwesterly line of said
Lot 19 to the most westerly corner thereof, thence
northwesterly on a direct line to the point of be-
ginning.
All that portion of said alley to be vacated, closed up
and abandoned, is more clearly shown on a certain map approved
and adopted by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach for
said vacation, closing up and abandonment, by Resolution dated

March 24th, 19+7$ and designated "Resolution Ido. 3457"- Refer
1s hereby made for further particulars as to the proposed vacati
Closing up and abandonment of said portion of said alley, to said
map, ad said map is made a part of this Resolution to the same
extent and purpose as if the same were herein incorporated in
U -C -TIM 2s That the proceedings for the closing up and
abandonment of the aforesaid portion of said alley shall be had.
and taken, and the City Council of the City of Newi)ort Beach elect
to proceed under the provisions of the "Street Vacation Act of
1941"f approved May 13: 1941, Statutes 19419 Chapter 250 and
amendments thereto, being Division 91 Page 3, Chapters 2 and 3,
Sections 8320 to $331, inclusive$ Streets and Highways Code.
aCTION., s All portions of said alley to be vacated,
closed up and abandoned the City reserves and excepts from said
vacation the permanent easement and right at any time or from
time to time to construct, maintain, o; erate, replace, rerflove and
renew the sanitary seaters and storm drains and appurtenant structu es
in, upon over and across said alley so proposed to be vacated and
pursuant to any existing franchises or renewals thereof, and to
construct, maintain, operate, replace, remove and renew and en-
large lines of pipe, conduits' cables, wires, poles and other
convenient structures for the mx operation of gas pipe lines$
telegraph and telephone lines and the distribution of electric
energy, water and incidental purposes.
SEGTIOi: 4s The Street Superintendent of the City of
Newport Beach shall cause to be conspicously posted along the line
of the portion of the alley proposed to be vacated, nft more than
300 feet apart, but not Less than three in all$ noticies of the
vacation of said portion of said alley. Said notices shall state
the pasFage of this Resolution of Intention and the time and place
of the hearing of all persons interested in or objecting to the
proposed vacation of said portion of said alley, all as required
by law.

SECTION 5: Notice is hereby given that the City Council
of the City of New ort Beach does hereby fix Monday, the 14th
day of April, 1947, at the hour of four o'clock P.M.., of said
day, in the Council Chambers of the City of Newport Beach, as the
time and place for hearing all persons interested in or objecting
to the proposed vacation of said portion of said alley. And the
City Council at said tiL.e and place will hear the evidence offere,
by any person interested in the vacation of said portion of said
alley heretofore described.
EC IO 6: This Resolution of Intention shall be pub-
lished at least once in the Newport Dalboa Press, a newspaper of
general circulation printed, published and circulated in the City
of Newport Beacht and said publication shall be made before the
date set for the hearing of all persons interested in or objectin,
to the proposed vacation.
The above and foregoing Resolution of Intention Ao. 3456
was passed at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City
of Newport Beach, held on the 24th day of March, 1947, by the
following vote, towit:
