TWERE,U the Nation at peace must be reminded of the price of war and the debt owed to those who
have died in war; and
UNEREA S, the redpoppy has been designated as a symbol of sacrifice of fives in all wars; and
UWEREAS, the American Legion ,AuVRary has pledged to remind ,gmer°ica annually of this debt
through the distri5ution of the memoriarflower.
TRIM, qMEUToU, I, Kevin qvuldoon, Mayor of the City of Newport Beach, on behalf of the
entire %euport Beach City Council, do hereby proclaim Vay, 24.E7 as

and ask that all citizens pay tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of
freedom by wearing the 9Vemorial Poppy.
