These provisions were established in 2014 at the request of the Corona del Mar Business Improvement District (CdMBID) for businesses with limited visibility. Businesses in Lido Marina Village, particularly those located off the main walkway, have requested the ability to locate A -frame signs as currently permitted in Corona del Mar. The draft Pilot Program is provided as Attachment A. The regulations included in the proposed Pilot Program are consistent with those created for Corona del Mar. Lido Marina Village is becoming a more vibrant destination for residents and visitors. With renovation efforts complete, now is the time for businesses to flourish. A pilot program would allow additional signage during the busy summer months and an opportunity to consider the impacts of these signs. ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW: Staff recommends the City Council find this project is categorically exempt under Section 15303, of the State CEQA (California Environmental Quality Act) Guidelines — Class 3 (Construction or Conversion of Small Structures) in that the pilot program would allow for A -frame signs to locate on private property. NOTICING: The agenda item has been noticed according to the Brown Act (72 hours in advance of the meeting at which the City Council considers the item).
