Dear Mike,
Thank you for sending the stairway plans. Theses are my thoughts:
1. 1 don't think the proposed staircase is needed. There is a beautiful walkway to
the lower park that works for both handicap and pedestrian access. Additional
access is not needed. The staircase that is there now, was an after thought to
the original plan, to accommodate an Eagle Scout project that frankly was never
needed.
2. The landscaped hillside looks so much better than having it broken up in the
middle with a concrete and metal staircase.
3. The staircase could attract bikers and skateboarders. This could be a liability
for the city.
4. Seems like the $142,000.00 could be better spent in the city.
