City Hall, Newport Beach, California. April 13th, 1914.
The Board of trustees of-the City of Newport Beach met in adjourned
session 2:30 P.M. April 13th, 1914.
President Hermes called the meeting to order, and roll was called
showing* there were present trustees; Albert Hermes, S.L.Collins, 7.K.
Parkinson and C.H.7ay; Absent trustee R.J.Stauss.
The matter of the bulkhead on the ocean front west of the S.P.'7harf
was taken up, On motion of trustee °'.K.Parkinson seconded by trustee
S.L.Collins, and carried thit a committie of three be appointed to
consult with the Townsend Company, with a view of acertaining their
- "itude as to the matter of frontage; President Hermes appointed the
the following Committie; trustee 7.K.Parkinson, Trustee S.L.
Collins and Lew H.'7allace.
Crdinance # Sealers „ weights and measures establishing the size of
fruit boxes and crates, was read fob the first time,; Moved by trustee
C.H.7ay seconded by trustee S.L.Collins and carried that Ordinance If
be passed to second reading.
Moved by trustee C.H.7ay seconded by trustee S.L.Collins and carried
that the date for the completion of the public toilets shall be July lst,
and that it be so inserted in the contract.
Moved by trustee S.L.Collins seconded by trustee C.H.5ay that the bondof
Goodeell and Jumper contractors for the public toilets, be accepted,
and carried.
On motion of C.H.'°ay seconded by trustee -7.K.Parkinson that the appliation
of Meyer Grau for a liquor lisease be laid over for one week, and carried.
IT Sup't McMillan asked permission to get ready for electric motorto
be used at the pumping plant, on motion by trustee 'I.K.Parkinson seconded
by trustee C.H.'7ay and carried that 'later Sup 't McMillan be instructe. to
notify the Pacific Light & Power Co, that an electric motor is desirei
and the Company be asked to do the necessary preliminary work towai..d
getting the electric motor in place.
In the matter of State Insurance, motion of trustee '7.K.azjtinso sec,ded
by trustee C.H.'7ay and carried that the payment of premium e r er ed,
to the City Treasurer Lew H.'7allace.,xi r�'-�`

Moved by trustee, S.L.Collins, seconded by trustee,,V.K.Parkinson and
carried that adjour ent be taken to 2:30 P.M. Monday April 20th, 1914.
