The Board of Trustees of the city of Newport Beach met iz adjourned session 7.30 P.M.Monday 24th,1915. President Parkinson called the meeting to order and the roll vas called showing there were present trustees W.H.Parkinson;S.R.%Jumper; H.A.Robinson;C.H.Way and G.P.Wilson.Absent,None. The minutes of the meeting of May 17th,1915.were read and approved. Various communications were read and referred to proper order of business. Unfinished business:Ordlnance #110_beind an ordinance of the city of Newport Beach licensing,for the purpose of revenue and regulation, 'all and every kind of business authorized by law and transacted and carried on in the city of Nowport'Boach;was read for the second time and was placed on final passage on motion of trustee C.H."lay,seconde( by trustee H.A.Robinson.Roll was called.resulting as follows Ayes: Trustees W.K. Parkinson; S .R.Jumier;H.A.Robinson;C.H.IVay and G.P.Wilsol Noes None.Absent N6ne.President Parkinson declared ordinance x'110 Passed. The application of'Mr Bowen for a hotel liquor license for use in the,Balboa Hotel having laid over the required time was considered favorably and license ordered issued on motion of trustee S.R.Jumper, seconded by trustee G.P.Wilson and carried. The application of the S. &.S.Wino & Liquor Co and of the Bay View Buffet Tor renowal of wholesale and retail liquor licoONes having laid over a week were favorably considered and licenses ordered Issued on motion of tr.,steo S.R.Jumper seconded. by trustee G.P.Nil And carried. The proposed ordinance providing for exits in places of entertain fires 6n beach ote was considered favorably by the Fire Committee to whom the matter was referred and the adoption of such on ordin r6commenddd. The proposed ordinance' regulating auto traffic on stroots,etc,was referred to the Street Committee and the Marshal to secure data' and make recom6ndation. New Business:The fire committee recomended the purchase of 500 feet of fine hose. &loved by trustee C.H.Way,seconded by trustee H.A. Robinson and carried that the Fire Committee be instructed to act in the matter of purchasing needed fire hose keeping within the limits imposed by law in such expenditures. A.Lafoureade made application for refund of unexpired hotel liquor license and was informrd that by resolution previously adopted it was decided that no such refunds'would be made. The invitation from the fire department to the Trustees to attend a social meet at the fire hall at Balboa was accepted. A petition from a number of citizens that the proceedings at the meetings of the dity Council be carried 6n in a more audible manner wds filed. Mr J.V.Carroll requested transfer of business and restaurant licensee numbers 283 and 284.Request not granted. Matter, of subscribing for a daily paper was discussed and dropped as it appeared that fame could not legally be done. Engineers Flaherty,Webber and representative of the Holland Construe! tion Co were given opportunity to explain fine points of their plans which completed the hearing of engineers who had presented plans for bulkhoading of the ocean front. On motion of trustee C.H.Way,seconded by trustee S.R.Jumper and carril a committee was appointed to wait on the P.E.people concerning the matter of protection of the front.President Parkinson appointed I CNZA 4 65 H.Clay Kellogg and Lea H.Wallace to act on•said c�dmmittoo. The clerk was instructed to issue duplicate of warrant #108 of August 1913 favor of Nocrport Garage for $12.50 '_ho original having been lost or destroyed.
