City Hall,Newport.Beach Cal.Aug 9th,1915.
The Board of Trustees cg the city of Newport Beach met in adjourned
session 7.30 P.M.time and place above shown..
President Parkinson called the meeting to order and the roll !^ras
called showing there were present trustees ;W.K.Parkinson,S.R.Jumper,
H.A.Robinson,C.H.Way.and G.P.Wilson.Absent ;none.
Various communications were read and referred to proper order of
business.
Unfinished business:The.following resolution was presented.
The city engineer of the city of Newport Eeach is hereby ordered and
instructed to-prepare,present and furnish plans,specifications and
careful estimates of costs and expenses for the creation and
construction of a rock or stone levee or bulkhead upon and along the
southerly line of the sidewalk re:.ervation located on the northerly
igY side of Ocean Avenue and between the Westerly line of 9th street
and the .center line of Alvarado street,all in the city of Newport
Beach:Said resolution was adopted on motion of trustee C.H.:'iay,
seconded by trustee S.R.Jumper.and carried by the following vote on
roll call:Ayes;W.K. Par. kinson; S.R.Jumper,H.A.Robinson,C.H.Way and
G.P.Wilson. Noes.None. Abserit;None.President Parkinson declared the
resolution adopted...
Engineers Bennetts.plans for. bulk -head were ordered returned•to him
at his request.
Letter from Mr Pedley was filed with other bulkhead communications.
New business:Request of P.A.Robinson to cross sidewalk with automobile
to get into his property was granted on motion of trustee C.11-Way,
seconded by trustee S.R.Jumper. and carried;with the usual proviso
that in accepting said permit the petitioner also assumes responsibil'i
for all damage to walk from such cros,iing.
Letter from League of California Municipalities urgeing a good
representation of this city at the coming annual meeting of the Le
was laid over for a week.without action.
Request of Marshal J.A.Porter that licenses #80 for .50¢ due from
Mrs Laura Bagley apartment house;and #83,for J40.00,punch board, due
from Butler & Wallace be cancelled was considered and the latter
license was ordered cancelled account parties not in business,on
motion of trustee C.H.Way� seconded by trustee S.R.Jumper and carried.
The application of M.Reichenbach for a wholesale and retail liquor
license with plan of building in which business ie to be conducted
attached.was presented and read for the f -krst time and laid over as
required by ordinance.
Moved by trustee C.H.Wa.y,seconded by trustee H.A.Robinson and carrie
that adjournment be taken to 7.30 P.•M.Monday August l6th,1915.
