City Hall,Newport Beach,Cal.Feby 21st,1916.
The Board of Trustees of the city of Newport Beach met in adjourned
session 7.30 P.M.Monday,Feby 21st,1916.in the ci -ty hall.
President Parkinson called the meeting to order and the roll was
called showing there were present.trustees W.K.Parkinson,S.R.Jumper,
H.A.Robinson,C.H.Way and G.P.Wilson.Absent none.
The minytes of the meeting of Febry 14th,1916.were read and approved.
Various communications were read and &Vpzzxsd refferred to proper
order of business.
Unfinished business - Ordinance #119,being an ordinance of the city of
Newport Beach providing for the holding of a municipal election on
April 10th,1916,as provided by law,was read for the second time and
was put on final passage on motiom of.trustee S.R.Jumper,seconded by
H.A.Robinson and carried the roll call on same being as follows.
Ayes - trustees W.K. Parkinson, S.R.Jumper,H.A.Robinson,C.H.Way and
G.P. Wilson. Noes:none.Absent:none.President Parkinson declared
ordinance #119 passed.
Ordinance #120 being an ordinance of the city of Newport Beach
changing and establishing the grades of Surf Avenue and other
Avenues from the easterly line of Ninth street to the easterly line
of Alvarado street.and fxzm.the grade of.Montero Avenue and other
avenues was read for the.second time and was put on final passage
on motion of trustee C.H.Way,seconded by trustee G.P.Wilson and
carried the roll call on same being as follows.Ayes:trustees W.K.
Parkinson, S.R.Jumper,H.A.Robinson,C.H.Way and G.P.Wilson.Noes:none
Absent:none.President Parkinson declared ordinance #120 passed.
The letter from the Crane Company,withdrawing their bid on iron pipe
and requesting return of certified check which accompanied bid,was
considered and clerk was instructed to return the check as desired.
These instructions being given on motion of trustee H.A.Robinson,
seconded by trustee S.R.Jumper and carried.
New Business: -City license #13 covering auto bus traffic over the
streets of the city issued to the Star Stage Line July lst,1915
was presented bearing endorsement transferring said license to E.A.
Logsden subject to consent of the Board of Trustees of.the city of
Newport Beach and signed by Wm White.Discussion followed resulting
in transWer of license being approved and the same ordered on motion
of trustee G.P.Wilson,seconded by trustee H.A.Robinson and carried.
A resolution was presented instructing the license collector to,
hereafter,make record of State.license number carried by any car on
which a city license is issued;and also to.require the filing of
documentary evidence that the person,firm.or corporation is what he
or it purports to be and will use licenses issued legally.Resolution
was adopted on motion of trustee C.H.Way,seconded by trustee G.P.
Wilson and carried.
The Cr wrg Stage Company filed a copy of their articles of partnership
and, t sixteen licenses covering the auto -stage business as propos(
to be operated by them be issued them.Moved by trustee G.P.Wilson,
seconded by trustee i;.A.Robinson and carried,that request be granted
and the licenses issued on payment of required fees.
Ordinance # - -- amending ordinance #117 establishing certain fire
limits and building restrictions was read fob the first time and was
passed to secong reading on motion of trustee C.H.Way,sec.onded by tri
H.A:Robinson.and carried.
Ordinance # - -- being an ordinance of the city of Newport Beach
fixing the salaries of certain city officials for the coming term
was read for the first time and passed to second reading on motion
of trustee.G.P.Wilson,seconded by trustee S.R.Jumper and carried.
Moved by trustee C.H.Way,seconded by trustee H.A.Robinson and carrie
that adjournment be taken.Sine- Die.Adjourned.
