The Board of Trustees of the City of New -Port Beach met in ad,iourned
session 7:30 P.L. date and »lace above shown.
president Jumper called the mcetina to order and the roll was called
showing there were present trustees; S.R.Jumper, Glenn "elms,
H.4 .!Robinson, J.C.11c0ain; Absent, ?one.
-The minutes of the meetin, of'-September 4th, 1916 were read and
approved.
Attorney Clyde Bishop re-•orted that the papers and deed covering the
property purchased from the "'est Coast -gas Comr.cny were in escro,-r.
The committee on the gas line to the pumping plant, requested £ ..rther
time for investigation, same was granted.
Communications were read and referred to proper order of busiross.
Resolution .'960 was then -presented, the s�.mo brim
a resolution of the city of I'eIlmo-rt Peach award` -ng contract for
certain w -ork on certain portions of First Street, -econd °Jtrcet,
Third Street,^ourth 3troet, Bay :.venue, Ilontero _venu.e, .rade -_ve,

Johnson Shea Company of _Riverside, at the -orices specified in their
proposal on file for said 'r:ork, to -wit:

A resolution was then presented establishin- a harbor
commission to consist of five (5) - ersons, and requesting said -error_
to organize as such harbor comraissi :n, and when organised to advise

certain public funds of the City of 1 e�,rport Peach. I.:oved by trustee
G.P. ;ikon_ seconded by trustee J.C.1JcCain and carried that the a'.ove
and foregoing resolution be passed and adopted, roll call shoring

Levi H.drallace requested '24.00 out or the music and promotion .fund
for the purpose of maintaining a motion picture theatre in the city
the -mount bein^; equal to one gears license on said theatre.

carried that the request be denied, on advise of the city '_tty that
the same would be irregular.

Loved by trustee H.A.RobinSon seconded by trustee, Glenn Helms and-
carried that a demand be allowed and luarrart drawn in the sum of
N2,235.63 for the unpaid _portion of the generating system of the
Peat Coast Gas Cc and the distributing system on BalboG Island.
Loved by trustee, G.P.:1ilson seconded by trustee, J.C.I :icCain and
carried. that the city engineer be instructed to commence the proceed-
ings to change and reestablish the grades of all streets in that por-
tion of the city east of :.lvar ^.do Street and such portions of Alvarad
street as not already changed and reestablished.

The matter of sewage at East Newport was referred to the street c
ittee, engineer and street 5up't with power to act.
