Minutes of the meeting.of October 16 were Bead and arproved.. ' Gas Committee Rep6rt; r Trustee J.C.LIcCain of the gas committee reported progress in the matter of cleaning ur the as plant property and machinery. Sale of Copper ,lire; Street Sup't reported on the sale of the copper wire now on hand and stated the there had been several inquires for same. Street Lights Balboa Island; Street Sup't reported that the probable cost of installing the nece- ssary lights on the island with an estimate of about ;3200.00. Fire Sirene; Committee on fire sirene requested more time for investignrition., same was granted. Communications; Communications were read and rererred to proper order of business. Jx, '12 7; Ordinance Ordinance 'L127 was r::ad for the second time;the same being an Ordin- ance of the cit.- of I?e rport I3eacll declaring the playin.- of certain games and permitting certain names to be played in the city of I'.ew- port Beach to be a misdemeanor, prescribing a penalty therefor, and repealing Ordinance 1Io. 76 of said city, Loved by trustee H.A.Robins seconded by trustee J.C., :.IcCain and carried that Ordinance X127 be put on final passage. Roll was called as follows; Eyes; trustees S.R.Jumper, Glenn ?:elms, G.P.;,'ilson, H.11-Robinson, J.C.I,:cCain. :oes; None. Robinson seconded by trustee J.C.I.IcCain and carried that the date for the appointment of the harbor commissioii be set for 17ovember 6th, 1916. SIlrvey opening of Bay Ave; Moved by rustee H.A.Robinson seconded by trustee J.10.1_ -1cCain and carried that the engineer be instructed to survey the lines from 19t. street to 40th street in connection with the opening of Bay Avenue. Allowing Demand for GPs Lleters, Moved by trustee J.O,I.IcCain seconded by trustee Glenn Helms and carr ied that the demand of the Pacific Ileter Co in the sum of x2,444.70 for meters purchased, be allowed and warrant drawn to cover. pN Moved by trustee G.r.'lilson seconded by trustee Glenn Helms and carried that the city electrician be instructed to install the nec- essary lights on Balboa Island, in accordance with the report furn- ished by the Street 3up!t October 23rd,1916. Letter C.L.Lancaster• Letter from C.L.Lancaster regarding the strip of land along the beach west of the city which has been anparently abandoned by the S.P.Ry,.Co was referred to the City Attorney. Offering Dredge for sale; Letter from A.J•Stevens offering for sale the old dredge now in the bay at a.price of "3,000.00 was read. ISoved by trustee H.A.Robinson seconded by trustee J.C.i:IcCain and carried that the same be filed. Request P.L:w• P.Corpn to allow use of poles for lights; Moved by trustee H.A.Robinson seconded by trustee J.C.L:cCain and carried that the Clerk be instructed to arite the Pacific LiP,ht and Power Corporation asking- for permission to place brae' >et lights on their -poles in the alley betvreen 23rd and 36th, street and -on pole! on Balboa Island, .,djourn; Moved by trustee H.A.Robinson seconded by trustee Glenn Helms and carried that adjournment be taken sine -die.
