The hour for the meeting of the Board of trustees having arrived
and there being present Trustees H.A.Robinson, G.P.Wilson; Glenn
Helms and J.C.McCain, and the President of the Board of trustees
S.R.Jumper being absent, the meeting convened, and on motion of
Trustee J.C.McCain seconded by trustee G.P.Wilson and carried trust
H.A.Robinson was elected President of the Board of Trustees Pro Tem
and took the chair as such, and it appearing that Claude M. Crego
Clerk of the City of Newport Beach, was absent the President Pro Tei
appointed trustee, G.P.^ilson, Clerk.
The roll was called and the following members of the Board of Trust
were present, H.A.Robinson, Glenn Helms, J.C.I..IcCaain, G.p.Wilson.
Absent; Trustee S.R.Jumper.
Attorney Bishop reported that the property North of and contiguous
to Block 6 East Newport, was not a public street,
IaIoved by trustee Glenn Helms seconded by trustee G.P.Plilson and
carried that the taxes be cancelled on the property North of and
contiguous to Block 6 East Newport:
This being the second I:Ionday in December and the Tax Collector
having delivered to the Board of Trustees, by filing the same with
the Clerk, a complete delinquent list of all persons and property
owing taxes and having returned the assessment roll showing numer-
ically all matters and things contained in the assessment book
and relating to persons and things and property,, the Board of
Trustees carefully compared said delinquent list with the assessment
book and being satisfied that it contained a full and true-statemeni
of all taxes due and unpaid, and credited the tax collector therewii
and made a final settlement of all taxes charged against him on the
assessment book, and thereupon char Ted the tax collector a ain with
the amount of taxes due on the delinquent tax list with 10°0 added
thereto together with the sum of 50d on each lot, piece or tract of
land separately ass.eosed, and each assessment off personal property
so delinquent, and instructed the Clerk to deliver said list to the
Tax Collector within five days.
On motion of trustee J.C.McCain seconded by trustee Glenn Helms and
carried Resolution m 63 was placed on final passage by the £ollowin
vote, Roll call showing, Ayes; H.A.Robinson, Glenn Helms, J.C.McCai
and G.P.Wilson; Noes None. Absent trustee, S.R.Jumper.
Moved by trustee G.P.Wilson seconded by trustee Glenn Helms and
carried that the report of tax collector J.A.Porter for the toll
of taxes for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1917 be accepted and
filed.
Moved by trustee J.C.McCain seconded by trustee Glenn Helms and
carried that the Clerk be instructed to write the P.L.& P.Corp'n
}nstructing them to turn over the keys of the street lighting syst
time switches to City Electrician S. L. Collins.
Moved by trustee J.C.McCain seconded by trustee Glenn Helms and
carried that City Electrician S.L.Collins be instructed to repair.
wiring at the Balboa Island Ferry Landing.
Moved by trustee G.P.Wilson seconded by trustee J.C.McCain and
carried that the Clerk be instructed to write the S.P.Ry, Co
regarding a road over their right of way between Newport Beach and
Huntington Beach.
Moved by trustee J.C.I;IcCain seconded by trustee G.P:Wilson and
carried that the Tax Collector be charged with the delinquent tax
including penalty and fees for advertising amounting to _33,578.76.
Moved by trustee Glenn Helms seconded by trustee J.C.IdcCain and
carried that adjournment be taken Sine Die. Adjourned.
