Monday February 5th, 1917. President Jumper called the meeting to order and the roll was called showing.there were present trustees, S..R.Jumper,Glenn Helms, G. P. Wilson, .H. A. Robinson and J.C.McCain, Absent; None. Minutes of-the meeting of Jany 22nd, were read and approved. ' Reports of the heads of the various departments for the month of January were read and approved and ordered filed. Communications; were read and referred to proper:order of business. Nd:0IIISHIED yU'Iid',:SS; None, NEW BUSINESS; -The clerk was instructed to write to Major Pillsbury asking him to send the city two copies of the maps on file in his office in connection with the proposed Jetty. Letter from Mr.C. Burns; asking that a change be made in the specifications for the proposed wooden side -yralk in connection with the size of the joists from 2 X 6,to 2 X.8, the same was ordered filed the change having been previously made. .Letter from ?Ir. ^eo Bauer; was read offering for sale to the City his building located on Lots 15 & 16 Block 21 Newport Beach Tract the same was ordered filed no action being taken. f Letter from 'ir. C.L.Lancaster; was read asking if the City desired To place on the market the property upon which the Old Gas Plant is located, the same was ordered filed and the Clerk instructed to , notify r,Sr Lancaster that the City did not intend to place this property on the market at this time. Report of Brayton S. Norton: in charge of "ublicity; was read and on motion of trustee, G.P. Wilson seconded by trustee, H.A.Robinson and carried the same was accepted and ordered filed and that the same be continued at °$25.00 per month. Letter from the ''ax Payers Leagve; was read petitioning the Board to appoint a commi ee from h� e Board of trustees together with intere- sted citizens for the purpose of securing the necessary right of way to connect with the Coast Boulevard at the City limits. On motion of Trustee G.P.Wilson, seconded by trustee H.A.Robinson and carried the President appointed the following committee in the matter; -Trustee, J.C.McCain, Trustee Glenn Helms, Lew H. Wallace, J.P.Greele and Tom Robinson. Letter from the Tax Payers LeL.gue; was read petitioning the Board of Trustees to have read in open meeting all bills and expenditures passed upon by the Finance committee'and have the same published in the local paper; On motion of trustee, G.P.Wilson, seconded by Trustee, Glenn Helms and carried the same was ordered filed, Licenses for cancellation; Mr. J.A.Porter Tax and License collector ' requested the cancellation of the following licenses; X44 -75 -229 -& 294, On motion of trustee Glenn Helms seconded by trustee, H.A. Robinson and carried the same were ordered cancelled. Letter to the State Board o£ Health; Me Clerk was instructed to write to the State Board of Health asking them to send the City a copy of the City Tater analysis, the same to be used for advertis purposes. I CNZA �, 177 Passing Resolution 168; Moved by trustee H.A.Robinson seconded by trustee, Glenn Helms and carried that Resolution :G68 be placed on final passage and adoption, the same being a Resolution of the City of Newport Beach changing and re- establishing the grades of certain portions of Alvarado St, Alvarado Place, Central Ave, Bay Ave, Coronado St, Fernando St, Bay View Ave, Cypress St, Adams St, Palm St, Washingto St, and B:Iain 'St, in the city. of Newport Beach. The same':was passed and adopted by the vote of the following named members of the Board of Trustees; Ayes; Trustees, S.R.Jumper, Glenn Helms, G.P.Wilson, H.A.Robinson, J.C.MeCain; absent; None, President Jumper thereupon declared Resolution r68 passed and adopted and signed the same. Passing Demands_ Moved by trustee, H.A.Robinson seconded by trustee J.C.McCain and carried that Demands ,1669 to #757 inclusive having been signed and approved by the Finance Committee, be allowed and Warrants ordered drawn to cover. Adjourn; Moved by trustee, G.P.Wilson seconded by trustee., H.A. Robinson. and carried that adjournment be taken to 7:30 P.M. Monday February 19th, 1917.Adj'ourned. City Cler . s
