The Board of Trustees of the city of imewport Beach met in adjourned
session 2 :00 P.M. Tuesdp,y Niarch 13th, 1917,
President jumper called the meeting to order and the roll was called
showing there were present trustees, s.R.Jumper, G.P.wilson, tn.A.
Robinson, absent;trustees, ulenn helms-and J.C.McCain.
The reading•of the minutes of the meeting of march 12th, was dispensed ,
with.
Communications; None.
Unfinished Business;
Moved by trustee H.A.Robinson seconded by trus
G.P.Wilson and carried that the plans and sepcifications of the
Jetty, as prepared by Leeds and Barnard be adopted and that the Cl
be instructed to advertise for bids and that authority be given to
Leeds and Barnard to advertise the same in the Engineering Record
and the South West Contractor.
NEW BUSINESS;
Lew H. Wallace presented a letter in connection with
the proposed fill for a street at the.Northerly end of 3rd street
and across the street from lots 12 -13 & 14 of Block 4 East Newport
and stated that if the proper bulkheading was placed on the Bay side
of the fill so that the sand could not leak out and cause the pave-
ment 'to cave, that he would donate the sum of Fifty (x50.00) dollars
towards the paveing oaf said strip instead of dirt surfacing same,
IaIoved by trustee, H.A.Robinson seconded by trustee G.P.ilson and
carried that the matter be turned over to the Street committee,
street Supt and City Engineer, with poser to act.
Lew H. wallace presented a letter addressed to him by "I.H.Chandler '
of Long Beach in which he stated that the Board of Directors of the
Orange County Improvement Assn had arranged to be in the city
i?ednesday �d_arch 14th, and would like to con-'er with the Board in the•
matter of locating the boulevard thru their holdings. Moved by
trustee G.P.iS'ilson seconded by trustee, H.A.Robinson and carried
that the matter be referred to the special committee on roadsi
Moved by trustee H.A.Robinson seconded by.trustee G.P.71ilson and
carried that adjournment be taken to 7:30 P.M. Monday, Narch 19th,
1917, Adjourned.
