The Board of Trustees of the city of Newport Beach met in adjourned session 7:30 P.M. Monday,. March 26th, 1917. President Jumper called the meeting to order and the roll was calle showing there were present trustees, S.R.Jumper, Glenn Helms, G.F. Wilson, H.A.Robinson,. J.C.114P Cain., Absent; None.. ' Rea ' ding of Minutes The minutes of the meetings of ?:'arch, 12th, 13,th, -and 19 h, were read and approved Committee Re--,orts The committee having the matter in hand of furnishing water and Gas to the residents on Newport Heights presented a written report together with an± estimate of cost. Communications Were read and referred to proper order of business. UNFINISH]D BUSINESS;. Rocindinq- irevious action on Ferry Franchisc; On moon 6f trustee .P.r'ilson seconde y trustee Glenn Helms and carried, all proceedings heretofore had ` and taken under date of March 19th, 1917 in connection with the notice of sale of a ferry franchise, be and is hereby vactted and set aside and the said notice of sale of a ferry franchise under date of Pdarch 19th, 1917 ., be and is hereby dismissed. New Franchise for Ferry; City attorney Bishop then presented and xead a otice of sale of a ferry franchise for the carrying of passengers and freight across Newport Bay from the Northerly end of Palm street to the Southerly end of Agate Avenue, in the city of Newport Beach.-Moved by trustee, H.A.Robinson - seconded by trustee, Glenn Helms and carried that on page five (5) of said notice of sale of a ferry franchise the word "Boat" be stricken out and that the notice of sale of a ferry franchise as revised be-adopted, and the Clerk instructed to advertise for bids. Jetty Advertisement held up; The clerk was ordered to withold from publication ih.the Newport News, the advertisement for bids for the construction of the "Jetty ". The committee on pine to the glass factory was given one more week to secure from :. -r. Norton of the Newport Glass Factory, a propo- sition in writing. Letter from "r. ':' :.:.iugler harbor master at San Diego was read extending to he Board of Trustees an invitation to an inspection trip around the Bay and offering any available data on harbor improvements, the same was filed. Invitation from the Newport Beach Fire Department was read, inviting The Board of Trustees, city officials and their families to attend a card party at the Balboa Hotel, 7.7ednesday evening, March 28th,1917 Moved by trustee G.P.i7ilson seconded by trustee, H.A.Robinson and carried that the invitation be accepted. ?!arrant 4S75.CC co Bisho Moved by trustee, J.C.NIcCain seconded by trustee, H.A.Robinson and carried that a demand be allowed and ' warrant ordered drawn in favor of City Attorney Clyde Bishop for the purpose of defraying the expenses of his trip to Sacramento in the interest of the Tide Land Bill. Transfer of runds_ Moved by trustee, G.P.Wilson seconded by trustee Glenn Helms and carried that the clerk be authorized to transfer from the General fund . of the city to the Gas General Fund enough money to care for the over draft in said fund caused by the payment of one bond and interest amounting to $1750.00.
