CITY HALL, NEWPORT BEACH, CALIF. 7:30, P.M „March 4,1918.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach met in reg-
ular monthly session at the place and on the date above mentioned.
On calling the Roll,the following Trustees were found to be
present: Trustees H.A. Robinson, J. J. Schnitker ,Geo.P.ililson,J.C.McCain
and J.P.Greeley.. Absent none.
RFADING OF . INUT+,S.
The minutes of Jan.22,Feb.4 and Feb.25 were read and approved
as read.
REPORTS OF DADS OF DEPART1:1ENmS.
The reports of Heads of Departments for the month of February
were read and by motion of Trustee Geo.P.17ilson,seconded by Trustee
J.C.McCain and carried,were ordered filed.
CM11,1UNICATIONS were read and referred to the proper order of busines',
ORDINANCE NO.139 relating to the damaging of sidewalks by vehicles
was brought up for final passage.It was moved by Trustee J.P.Greeley
seconded by Trustee Geo.P.Iffilson and carried that Ordinance No.139
be adopted. On calling the Roll the following Trustees voted "Aye ":
Trustees H.A. Robinson ,Geo.P.Wilson,J.C.IvICCain and J.P.Greeley.
The following Trustee voted No; Trustee J.J.Schnitker. Absent,none.
A majority of the votes being,in the affirmative,the Chairman de-
clared the adoption of the said ordinance No.139.
ORDINANCE NO. 140 providing for an election to be held April 8,1918
was brought up for final passage.It was. moved by Trustee J.P.Greeley
seconded by Trustee J.J.Schnitker and carried that Ordinance No.140
be adopted. On calling the Roll the following Trustees voted "Aye ":
Trustees H.A. Robinson, J. J. Schnitker ,Geo.P;I7ilson,J.C.lyleCain and
J.P.Greeiey. Noes,none. Absent,none. The Chairman declared Ordinance
No.140.duly adopted.
THE REPORT OF THE DREDGING COT.U.TITTE'E was taken up for discussion and
the Chairman added Lew H.11allace to the Committee.
COMITUNICATIONS 7,`ERE DISPOSED QF AS FOLLOi7S:
The request of Samuel Tustin for construction of driveway over
sidewalk into garage was granted by motion of Trustee J.J.Schnitker,
seconded by Trustee J.P.Greeley and carried.
THE RE ^UEST OF CITY 11ARSHAL PORTER FOR CANCELLATION OF LICENS:S
Nos.127,249,269,289,298 and 317 was granted by motion of Trustee J.J.
Schnitker,seconded by Trustee J.P.Greeley and carried.
^HE 73TTER OF 'ILVIA11 SSTTNER was filed.
REGARDING THE LETTERS OF LEEDS & BARNARD AND WILLIAM LEDBETTER asking
for an extension of time for the completion of the Jetty,it was moved
by `trustee J.P.Greeley,seconded b -, Trustee J.J.Schnitker and carried
that the Board visit the Jetty at 9.A.PS,March 5th,and that the City
Engineer and Cit7 Attorney be invited to attend.
It was ai'so moved by Trustee J.P.Greeley,seconded by Trustee
Geo.P.,7ilson and carried that the said request for extension of time
be laid on the table.

By motion of Trustee J.J.Schnitker,seconded by Trustee Geo.P.Wil
and duly carried,Tax Collector J.A.Porter was authorized to employ
Mrs.1.1iriam S.Porter to assist in the collection of second installment
of Taxes in April On calling the Roll the following Trustees voted

eeley and carried that the Board adjourn to Teaaesd_ay,7 :30 P.M.
