A Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees,called by President H.A.Robinson,met at the place and time above noted.The Clerk being absent,Trustee J.J.Schnitker was appointed Secretary pro tem. The roll was called and the following Trustees were present: H. ^. Robinson, J. J, Schnitker ,Geo.P.Plilson,J.C.IsicCain and J.P.Greeley. The Call was read' and the Board proceeded to the order of busi- ness. The reading of the minutes of the last meeting was dispensed with. ' Communication from Senator Phelan was read and placed on file. The special order of business for which the meeting was called was the consideration of the establishing of a ship building plant at Nevroort Beach. idr.Armitage was called upon,and he in turn intro- duced Idessrs Everett,Young acid Childress. Pdr.Armitage stated that the city's property of 12"acres'at the Jetty had been shovrn to these gentlemen. A certain lease drawn up by E.N.Childress and T.B.Young as agents was read,and a£ter,considerable discussion,a few changes were made in same. It was moved by Trustee J.P.Greeley",seconded by ^rustee J.C. IdcCain and carried that lease be referred to the*City Attorney to be re- written as per corrections made. , It was moved by Trustee J.P.Greeley,seconded by Trustee J.C. McCain that tle matter of the printing of the Channel Bonds be re- ferred to a com;ittee composed of Trustees R.A.Robinson and J.J. After much discussion of the ship bliilding lease,it was moved by Trustee J.P.Greeley,seconded by Trustee T.C.IvicCain and, carried that the City Attorney be instructed to draw a lease which would be satisfactory to both lessee and lessor with the view of securing a ship building plant at Newport Beach It was i:ioved by Trustee J.P.Greeley,seconded by Trustee J.C.
