_ The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach,Cal.met in
regular session at the place and hour above mentioned.
The roll was called and the following Trustees were found to be
present: J. J. Schnitker ,Geo.P.Wils_on,J.C.McCain.and L.S.wilkinson.
Absent,Trustee J.P.Greeley.
In the absence of the Chairman it was moved by Trustee J.J.Schnitker
seconded by Trustee L.S.71ilkinson and carried that Trustee Geo.P.Wilson
act as Chairman. ,
The reading of the minutes was dispensed with.
This being the first Monday in June,the Tax Collector delivered to t
Board of Trustees by filing the same with the Clerk,a complete delin
quent list of all persons and property owing taxes,a.nd at the same t
'returned the-Assessment Roll. In the delinquent list eo, delivered th
was set down in numerical order all matters contained in the Assessm
Roll relating to delinquent persons and property.
The Board of Trustees having carefully compared said Delinquent
.List with the Assessment Roll,and being satisfied that it contained
a full and true statement of all taxes due and unpaid „it was moved
by Trustee J.J.Schnitker,seconded by Trustee J.C.McCain and duly car
that the Tax Collector be duly credited with all taxes oharged -again
him on the Assessment Roll,the amount of which was $37,329.83 and th
in turn the Clerk be directed to charge the Tax Collector with the
amount of taxes due on the Delinquent List,together with all penalti
due thereon and an additional sum of 50d advertising fee on each lot
parcel -or tract of land assessed separately,and each assessment of
personal property so delinquent,the entire amount of said Delinquent
List being $4,099.92
The Board further directed the Clerk to deliver said Delinquent
'to the Tax Collector.
It was moved by Trustee J.C.MeCain,seconded by Trustee L.S.wilk .
and carried that the demands be allowed and warrants ordered drawn t
Report was made by D.7.Tait on the matter of garbage collection
By motion of Trustee J.C:McCain,seconded by Trustee J.J.Schnitker
carried,adjournment was taken to 7:30 p.m.,June 4,1918.
