The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach,Calif* met in regular session at the time and place above indicated. The roll was called and the following Trustees responded Pre J.P. Greeley, J. J. Schnitker ,Geo.P.Wilson,J.C.McCain and L.S.Wilkins The minutes of May 27th,June 3rd and June 4th were read and approved as read. W.W.Wilson reported on selling of dredging material for filling of lots. It was -moved by Trustee L.S.Wilkinson,seconded by.Trustee J.C. McCain and carried that W.W.Wilson be instructed to continue negoti- ations with the Pacific Electric Land Co..regarding the filling of their lots on the -Bay Front,and to represent -to them that it was the sense of the Board that they would be willing to accept the north half of Block 13 and all of Block 117,3ection B.in payment for dredged material. The Clerk reported on the matter of the furnishing of power for dredging by the Bt[ison Company. It was moved by Trustee L.S.Wilkinson,seconded by Trustee J;J. 3ohnitker and carried that the.matter of the installation of water tank and tower on Balboa Island be taken up by the Water Superintend ent and Water Committee with instructions to report promptly. It was moved b Trustee J.J.Schnitker,seconded by Trustee Geo.P Wilson and carried that the Clerk make demand and draw Warrant to reimburse himself for delinquent taxes paid by him on Lot 8 Block 9, Balboa Tract,about to be auctioned off for the taxes of 1912 -13. The Claim'of F:B.Sanders was again referred to the Street Com- mittee and the Street Superintendent and the Clerk instructed to so notify his attorney. Communications were read`and referred to the proper order of business, By motion of Trustee J.J.Schnitker,seconded by Trustee Geo.P. Wilson and carfied,the request of W:M.Ledbetter & Co.for an extensi of sixty days for the completion of the board walk on Surf Ave.was granted. The request of the Tax Collector to be credited with $126.99 the'amount of tax,penalties and cost of advertising accrued against all of Lot 1,See.1 -7 -10 (except 14 acres to Geo.Hagar) containing 9.61 acres a.nd• assessed tq Joseph Ferguson for the year 1917- 18,was g�rx'anted by motion of Trustee J.J.Schnitker,seconded by Trustee Geo.] fgilson and carried. Regarding the application of Pete Peracovich es caretaker of t'. each and janitor,it was moved by Trustee J.J.Schnitker,seconded by rustee Geo.P.Wilson and carried that a caretaker and janitor be appointed from June 15th at a salary of $50.per month and that a committee be appointed to outline his.duties and with power to act. Chairman J.P.Greeley appointed Trustees L.S.Wilkinson and J.C.MeCai: as such committee. . The request of J.Royal Lemon,City Clerk,for permission to ap- a deputy for two months at a salary of $75.per month,was brought up for consideration. It was moved by Trustee L.S.Wilkinson,seconded b Trustee J.J.Schnitker that the request be granted. On calling the roll the Trustees voted as follows: A,yes,L.S.Wilkinson and J.J.Schn ker; Noes,J.P.Greeley,Geo.P.Wilson and J.C.McCain. Motion lost. RESOLUTION N0.97. Resolution No.97 was presented and it was moved by Trustee Geo. P.Wilson,secondedby Trustee J.C.McCain that the same be adopted.On calling the roll the Trustees voted as follows: A.yes,Trustees J.P. City Hall,Newport Beach,Calif.,2 P.M.,June 14,1918. A called meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of Newpo Beach,Calif.,was held at,the place and hour above noted. The Clerk being absent,Trustee L.S.Wilkinson acted as secretary. The roll was called and all the Trustees were present as follo Trustees J.P. Greeley, J. J. Schnitker ,Geo.P.Wilson,J.C.MeCain and L.S. Wilkinson. The call was read -dnd the Board proceeded to the business embodied in the call,viz: the application for a permit from the State Board of Health to construct a sewer system,the securing of a site on Balboa Island for the erection of a water tank and tower,the consideration of the execution of the contract with the Pacific Tank & Pipe Co.for the erection of said tank and tower,the application of Wilson Bros.Co.for a gasoline filling station at Balboa,and the approval of the bond of the City Recorder. ^RESOLUTION i:C.97 The application to the State Board of Health with Resolution was read asking permission to discharge sewage into the Santa Ana River. Said Resolution,being Resolution No.91 -J, was adopted by motion of Trustee J.J.Schnitker,seconded by Trustee Geo.P.Wilson and carried by the following vote: Ayes,Trustees J. P .Greeley,J.J.Schnitker,Geo.P.Wi son, J.C.McCain and L.S.Wilkinson. Noes,None; absent,None® The committee appointed in the matter of the construction of a water tank and to er on Balboa Island reported favorably on the purchase for the sum of �350.from A_.L.Heard,Lot 26,Block 9,Section 1,Balboa Island, upon which to erect said tank. It was moved by Trustee J.J.Schnitker1 seconded by Trustee Geo.P.Wilson, that the President and Clerk be author- ized to close a deal for the above mentioned lot. On calling -the roll the vote stood as follows: Ayes,Trustees J.P.Greeley,J.J.Schnitker, Geo.P.Wilson,J.C.MeCain and L.S.Wilkinson.Noes,none; absent,none. BID OF PACIFIC TANK & PIPE COMPANY ACCEPTED. It was moved by Trustee Geo.P.Wilson,seconded by Trustee J.J.Schnit- ker,that all bids for the erection of a water tank and tower on Balboa Island be rejected except the bid of The Pacific Tank & Pipe Cc.,and1that the bid of the Pacific Tank & Pipe Co.be accepted: On calling the roll the Trustees voted'as follows: Ayes,Trustees J -.P.Greeley,J.J.Schnitker, Geo;P.Wilson,J.C.McCain and L.S.Wilkinson. Noes,none; absent,none: 1� The application of Wilson Bros.Co.to install a gasoline filling station in Balboa was referred to the Street Committee for report,said Committee also to interview Way & Driggers regarding the removal of gasoline p�p now maintained by them on the sidewalk in Balboa. BOND OF F.L.RIPTEHART,CITY RECORDER,APPROVVED. The Bond of F.L.Rinehart,City Reeorder,in the sum of $500:signe, by John McMillan and Helen M.Lemon as sureties was presented,accepted and ordered filed by motion made by Trustee Geo.P,Wilson,seeonded by Trustee J.C.MeCain and carried.
