The Poll being called,the follo mraotees were found to be present: Trustees J.P.Greeley,J.J.Schnit Geo.P.Jilson,J.C.I.1CCain and L.S. - 'ilk }nson. Absent,none. The Hinutes of Aug.5th and Aug.19th were read and approved. The Reports of Heads of Departments were read and on motion of Trn ^t e .Geo.P..7ilson,seconded by Trustee J.C.I.IcCain and carried,were acdepte and ordered filed. Trustee L.S.;7ilkinson reported on furnishing water to Newport'Height . Committee was continued. L.H.7allace reported on the elimination of the curve at 19th St..and the corraittee was continued. Trustee J.C.I-IcCain reported on the request of W.F.Spofford to move h's shoe repairing shop onto a wharf on the Bay Front. It was moved by Trustee J.J.Schnitker,seconded by Trustee L.S.YJilkinson and carried hat the report of the committee be accepted and that the request be deni do "rustee L.5.17ilki-03on reported on negotiations with the Soilthern.Calif; Edison Co.regarding the installation of domestic light service on Nee�- port Heights. By motion of Trustee J.J.Schnitker,seconded by Trustee) Geo.-D.'.'lilson and carrie a,t)!e Clerk was instructed to communicate with 1dr.Deimling,District Agent of the Edison Co. The Communications were read. In the matter of the letter of John Perrin regarding the expenditure) for a sewer system during war time,it was moved by Trustee L.5.i ?ilki'son seconded by Trustee Geo.P.Wilson and carried that the Clerk write to I:1r.Perrin thanking him for the letter and telling him that the expendji- tzzre seemed to be absolutely necessary from the standpoint of sanita ion. , Regarding the letter of Lew H.71allace accompanied by the letter from Capt.Chas.T.Leeds,it ',-;as moved by Trustee J.C.KcCain,seconded by Tru tee J.J.Schnitker and carried that the City Engineer be authorized to take chr,nnel soundings as recommended by Capt.Leeds. The letters of Dr.D.Id.Small and ^.H.Kindig were referred to the Cler for reply. In the matter of the letter of the State Board of Health regaxding tre Convention to be held in Riverside in October,it was moved by Truste� Z,.S.Wilkinson,seconded by Trustee J.C.Mc Cain and carried that the Pres- ident of the Board and the City Health Officer be sent as delegates at the City's expense. By motion of Trustee L.S.7ilkinson,seconded by Trustee J.J.Schnitker carr;ied,the request of the Clerk for a three weeks vacation was .gran - The City Attorney was requested tr communicate again -,.ith the Souther Pacific Co.and The Pacific Electric Co. regarding the opening of the crossing at 26th St. RESOLUTION NO.101. TAX hEVY. Resolution No.i01 ryas presented for adoption. It wa.s moved by Trustee J.J.Schnitker,seconded by Trustee J.C.I.IcCain and carried tha, the same be adonted,the following being a copy of said Resolution No RL90LUTIOIT II0.101. A Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach fixing the rate per centum and levying a tax upon all of the taxable property with- in the City of Nermort Beach which is taxable there- in for municipal purposes.
