,i S°ecial i:eeting of the "Board of Trustees of the City of
Ptewrort Reach,Calif.,was held at the hour and place as above noted.
The roll was called and the folloving Trustees were present:
Trustees J.F.Greeley,J.J.Schnitker,Geo. . ilson,J.C.I.:cCain and
L.S.7ilkinson. Absent,Trustees,IJone.
The Call was read and the Board -iroceeded to the business embodied
' in the call,as follows: the consideration oif a contract for dredging
an channel in r ?er:port ray by the r?orth .!Vneriean DredginS Co. and also
the establishment of grade of.streets.

Cain the following, Resolution was carried by roll call vote as
follows:- Ayes, Trustees J.P. Greeley ,J.J.Schnitker,Geo.P. ".'ilson,

this Board 'of Trustees has heretofore cdvertised. for
bids for r• ridening,deepening and. ctrai;htening the Channel of 'Te.: ort
Bay,within the City of rTer_nort Beach,by dredging the
Board has,after due corsideration,rejected all bids submitted for the
doing of said wort: and has determined by 4/15 vote of ^11 its membors
that in its opinion the work in question maybe - perforneCL more eco-
nomically by da:; labor,and

amou.t of ?Fifty Thousand Dollars (yr50,000.00),to provide funds for
the doinz of said work, and said bonds have been sold and the mor_oy
realized from the sale thereof is now in the City Treasury of said
City,and it is greatly to the interest of said city and its citizeno
that said work for the improvement of the channel of rrerrnort 'Oay,be
commenced and pushed to completion at the earliest -possible B.ate,and
it apnearin.T to this Board that it is necessary-that the City secure
the use'of a large dredge for the purpose of doing said work- and it
ap -poaring that the City cannot.at this time,owing to corditi.ono
brought about by the -reat nrorld rrar,obtain material necessary for
the construction of such dredge for a long time to come,anri it forth
a»-nearing that the erection And corstructior_ of a dredge by the city
ever_ at such'time,wonld cost a very large sum and mould be a great
unwarranted waste of the fui.ds of the City and it further a-pearin
that the interest of the City can best be served by the leasing and
hiring of a dredge for the doing of said work, and

doing of said work is the dredge owned by the north rurnerican Dredgin

work and that the City enter into a contract of lease With said comya y
providing for the leasing and hiring of the same, an0. that the Fresi -.-
of the roard of Trustees b`e :-nd is hereby authorized to eyecute a-ad c
sign the .same on behalf of the City, anrTthat the City Cler.r be -nd
is hereby authorized to affix the City Seal thereto acrift to sign his
name thereto and attest the same.
