City Hall, Newport Beach, Calif, June 26, 1919
The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach met in special
session called by President J. P. Greely;
The President called the meeting to order and the roll was called
-showing there were present truetees; J. P. Greely, J.JiSchnitker,
A.L.Heard, J.C.MoCain, and L.S.Wilkinson, none absent.
The call was read showing that the Board had been convened to take
action in the following matters; Qualifying of the City Clerk,
appointed by the Board of Trustees atla meetingch614 June 23, 1919;
Qualifying of A.L.Heard as a member of the Board of Trustees
appointed at the meeting of June 23, 1919; The appointing of-a
police officer; The amendment of certain sections or redrafting,
the license ordinance of the City of Newport Beach; The acceptance
of the resignation of the present City Recorder and the qualifying
of his successor, A.L.Heard was present, .took'tlthe, oath of offi
.and assumed his seat-, on :the Board,
The City Clerk presented Bond with J.M_oMillan and W.W.Crosier as
sureties, the same being approved and excepted by the Board of
Trustees upon motion of Trustee J.C.MoCain seconded by Trustee
L.S.Wilkinson and duly carried. Bond filed with the .President)of
the Board of Trustees of the City of- Pderport Beach.
Upon motion of Trustee J.C.MoCain, seconded by Trustee A.L.Heard,
and carried, the resignation of Frank L.Rinehart as City Recorder.
of the City of Newport Beach was accepted.
The vacancy created by the resignation of Mr:Rinehart was filled
by the appointment of Byron Hall as City Recorder of the City of
Newport Beach upon motion of Trustee L.S.Wilkineon, seconded by
ariis`ted_.J�CsMcCain and duly carried,

Upon motion of Trustee L.S.Wilkinson, seconded by Trustee J.J.Sc
and carried,the Bond of Byron Hall, with J.J.Sohnitker and
G.W.Smith as sureties, was approved, accepted and ordered filed,
It was moved by'Trustee J.C.MoCain, seconded by Trustee A.L.Heard
that H.J.Henry be appointed a special police officer at a salary
of One Hundred Dollars ($100.003 a month, compensation not to
continue longer than the,employment;.The roll was called showing
Ayes; Trustees, J,P.Greely, A.L.Heard, J.C.MaGain, and J.J.Schnit
Noes; -Trustee, L.S.Wilkinson, Absent; None. President Greely
declared the motion carried.
Police officers bond with H.J.Henry as principal.and S.R.Jumper
and W.L.Jordan as sureties,,in the sum of $1000.00, was presented
and upon motion of Trustee J.C.McCain, seconded by Trustee
A.L.Heard and carried was accepted and ordered filed.
Upon motion of Tr'dateb_aL:S,Ailkinaon seconded by Trustee A.L.Heard
and carried, the committee on the revision of the license
ordinance was continued.
Ad,ourment was taken on motion of Trustee J.J.Schnitker, seconded
by Trustee A..L.Heard and duly carried.
