The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach met in ad- journed session at 7.30 P.M. The meeting was called to order by President J.P.Greeloy. The roll was called amd showed the following Trustees present, J.P.Greeley, J.J.Schnitker, A.L.Heard, L.S.Wilkinson. Absent J.C. McCain. heading of the minutes of March 8th. were read and.there being ,no corrections or omissions same were approved, and so ordered. 'report of the Street Committee was read regarding the new pro - iposed ferry between the main land and'Balboa Island, and upon motion by Trustee J.J.Schnitker seconded by Trustee L.S.Wilkinson and.carrie that same be referred to the City Attorney. Trustee A.L.Heard reported that the City Electrician had report led to him that they were working on fhe4cotdoits of the Streeilightin system, correcting the shortages, also erecting the new poles and ad- justing the lights, as per instructions from the Street Committee. On motion by Trustee J.J.Schnitker seconded by Trustee A.L.Hear land carried; That a c�ittoe of two consisting of Trustee J.P.Greele, !and Mr. Lew H.wallaceAinterview the Southern California Edison Co. 'about contract for :ftx electric juice. Communications were read and referred to the regular order of business. The three applications for the erections of private z$ wharfs approved by the City Engineer, were referred to the City Attorney in regards to right of way over Bay Ave. On motion by Trustee J.J.Schnitkor seconded by Trustee A.L.Hear and carried; That Fred J.Crosier be granted permit to constuct a cement driveway over curb and didewallt on Lot 94 Block "A" East Newpo Tract, as per his application. On motion by Trustee J.J.Schnitker seconded by 'Trustee A.L.Hear and carried; That the Newport Hotel License be transferred to Nellie Simons. On motion by Trustee A.L.Heard seconded by Trustee J.J.Schnitke, land carried; ''That a committee of two be appointed to meet with the committee of the Women's Civic League in regards to establishing a (play ground, as per their communication. The President appointed IT !Trustees A.L.Heard and J.J.Schnitker,to act on said committee. On motion by Trustee J.J.Sohnitker seconded by 'Trustee L.3,Wil- kinson and carried; That a warrant be drawn to the order of J.A.Porto, tax collector for X515.31 to pay delinquent oitystaxes on property I owned by the city, as per his statement presented to the Board. Communication from Mr. C.w.Lef£ingwell Jr, in regards to widen alley between "H" and "I^ Streets and abandoning Bay Ave between said. Streets, was referred to the Street Committee by the President. On motion by Trustee J.J.Schnitker seconded by Trustee L.S.4ri1 kinson and carried; That the communication from Major Downing in re- gards to clearing away the wreck of the "Fremont" be filed for futur reference. Bids were opened for one Dodge Bros. Chassis as per advertisem and all bids were rejected except one from O.A.Haley whose bid was yp1160.00 delivered Newport Beach, and upon motion by Trustee A.L.Hea seconded by Trustee L.5.,,-rilkinson and carried that the Clerk be instu ed to order same delivered soon as possible. NEW BUSIIMS. The President appointed Trustee L.S.'Rilkinson a committee of omi to see about funds for a public library, as bir. Entitled as follows: A Resolution by the Board of.Trustees of the City OF Newport beach, appointing Election Officers for the Municipal Election -to be held in-the City of Newport Beach, April 12th 1920. On motion by Trustee A.L.Heard.seconded by Trustee L.S.Wilkinson ,:the iarg6ing resolution was adopted by the following vote to -wit: Ayes, Trustees J.P.Greeley, J.J.Schnitkor, AL.Heard, L.S.Wilkinson I Noes, None.
