HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-25-1921 - Special Meeting424 City Hall, Newport Beach, April 25, 1921. The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach met in special session at 7:30 o'clock P. M. on above date. The meeting was called to order by President J. P. Greeley. The roll was called as follows: Present, Trustees J. P. Greeley, J. J. Schnitker, Geo. P. Wilson, Conrad.Richter, L. S. Wilkinson. Absent, Trustees, None. The call of the special meeting was read and the Board proceeded to take up the first item of business stated therein, namely Advertising. Mr. Frasier, Secretary of the Anaheim.Chamber of Commerce, was present and gave a very complete description,of the Valencia Orange Show-to be held at Anaheim from the 17th to the 21st of May, 1921, after which Mr. Rodman who is engaged to make up the program for the Orange Show, described the proposed program and asked the cooperation of the Board in the Orange Show. He also thought we should have four or five pages of advertising in the program includin the harbor, and at an approximate cost of $200.00. The visitors retired and the Board discussed the matter at length and it was the unanimous opinion that as it is the Orange County Harbor, the expense of advertising same should come out of the appropriation made by the Board of Supervisors. On motion of Trustee Conrad Richter seconded by Trustee Geo. P. Wilson and carried, that the Board agrees if the Orange Show people will get the two page map of the harbor from the County Appropriation, we Will pay $100.00 out of the advertising fund for a two page advertisement or more if they can give.it, describing our Beach. The next item of business stated in the call was the Harbor Regulations, and Trustee J. J. Schnitker presented Harbor Regulations No. 1 which he read in the form of an Ordinance: Same were discussed and corrected, and on motion of Trustee L. S. Wilkinson seconded by Trustee Geo. P. Wilson and carried, they were passed to the second' reading. The next item was the Building Ordinance, and Chairman Greeley reported that it was not quite ready and would have to be rearranged and copied which would cost about $10.00. On motion of Trustee J. J. Schnitker seconded by Trustee Geo. P. Wilson and carried, the sum necessary to have it arranged properly was allowed. On motion of Trustee Geo.,P. Wilson seconded by Trustee J. J.
