HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/11/1921 - Adjourned Regular Meeting446 City Hall, Newport Beach, Aug. 11, 1921 The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach met in adjourned session at 10:00 o'clock A.I.T. on above date. The meeting was called to order by President J. P. Greeley. The roll was called as follows: Present Trustees J. P. Greeley, J. J. Schnitker, Geo. P. Wilson, Conrad Richter. Absent Trustee L. S. Wilkinson. On motion of Trustee J. J. Schnitker seconded by Trustee Geo. ' P. Wilson and carried, the City Engineer was instructed to prepare the necessary plans and specifications for the construction of a wharf at Main Street and for a wharf and landing at Washington Street within said City, for which improvements Municipal Improvement District No. 1 was formed and bonds voted to pay the costs and expenses thereof. On motion of Trustee Geo. P. Wilson seconded by Trustee J.J. Schnitker and carried, the petition of the property* owners of Block C Newport Bay Tract between Alvarado Place and Coronado Street to form an assessment district for dirting the alley in said Block, was referred to the City Engineer for approval. The Clerk reported that the cement sidewalk in front of Lot 18 in Block 27 Newport Beach Tract had been undermined by children and was liable to cave in any time, and on motion of Trustee J. J. Schnitker seconded by Trustee Geo. P. Nilson and carried, the Clerk was instructed to notify the Orange County Improvement Association to whom the lot belongs of the condition of same. On motion of Trustee J. J. Schnitker seconded by Trustee Geo. P. Wilson and carried, the meeting adjourned to Monday, August 15, 1921 at 10:00 o'clock A. P,. ATTEST: oard of Trust s. Hervey having been approved by the City Engineer, were granted. The matter of one of our teamsters, Frank Williams, being sick and unable to properly handle the team was brought up, and Street Superintendent Knight stated he had given him two weeks vacation to recuperate. Trustee-Schnitker reported that the Advertising Committee of the Chamber of Commerce had been asked by the Los Angeles Times for some views of our Harbor for an early edition of the Times, and on mq-t,i-on of Trustee Conrad Richter seconded by Trustee J.
