The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach met in regular adjourned session at 7 :30 o'clock p.m. on above date. The meeting was called to order by President J. J. Schnitker. The roll was called showing the full Board present except Trustee Conrad Richter. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Trustee L. S. Wilkinson stated the Fire Committee were not ready to report in regard to an Assistant Fire Chief and were therefore given more time. The communications were read and referred to the proper order of business. UNFINISHED BUSINESS. Trustee L. S. Wilkinson introduced an Ordinance designating the name of a certain street, changing the name of a certain street and establishing grades and curb lines of certain streets in said City. The Ordinance was ordered filed, read, considered, designated Ordinance No. 228 and referred to the City Engineer. This being the day and hour set for opening bids on the unpaid boardwalk assessments on certain portions of Ocean Avenue between Ninth and Nineteekth Streets, but the Clerk reported that no bids had been received, whereupon on motion of Trustee L. S. Wilkinson seconded by Trustee H. C. Sloan and carried, the bonds were awarded to the Contractor, Frank H. Greene, in satisfaction of his debt. The plumbers bond of Ira Earl Pooles was filed for approval as soon as the plumbing permit is presented. On motion of Trustee H. C. Sloan seconded by Trustee Geo. P. Wilson and carried, the application of the First National Bank of -Newport for permission to cross the sidewalk with motor vehicles on Lot 1 Block 22 Newport Beach was granted. ' The communication from R. G. Roberts in regard to the streets on Newport Helghts was filed, the City Clerk to explain the matter to him. On motion of Trustee L. S. Wilkinson seconded by Trustee H. C. Sloan and carried, a page of advertising was to be taken in the Newport - Balboa Bulletin in the Special Yachting Edition of March 30th at a price of $60.00. On motion of Trustee L. S. Wilkinson seconded by Trustee Geo. P. Wilson and carried, a discussion of Building Ordinance No. 182 was referred to a Committee of the Whole to meet at the call of the President. On motion of Trustee H. C. Sloan seconded by Trustee L. S. Wilkinson and carried, the request of 17. L. Jordan to cut the curb in front of Lot 10 in Block 9 of Balboa Tract was granted under the direction of the Street Superintendent. On motion of Trustee L. S. Wilkinson seconded by Trustee H. C. Sloan and carried, the application of A. B. Sanders as Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce was tabled for the present. On motion of Trustee L. S. Wilkinson seconded by Trustee H. C. Sloan and carried, the City Engineer was instructed to furnish the City Attorney with the necessary data for opening up and paving Bay Avenue from 4th Street to 18th Street. On motion of Trustee L.
