City Hall, Newport Beach January 7,1925.
The -Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach, met in regular
adjourned session on the above date. The meeting was called to order by
President Geo.P.'.';ilson, The roll was called showing the full Board present.
City Engineer Kressly reported on bids for a crater system on
Corona Del Mar stating that the bids were within hi -s estimate considering
the discount necessary to sell the bonds which was included in the bids
of contractors. He teported tI_st the total amounts of the respective bids

Mr. Frank D.Lewis addressed the Board, stating that he believed
the S parr Co., would buy Bonds on the project saving considerable discount.
Thereupon the matter was laid over to &:onday January 12,1925, it being
understood that in case the bids were rejected and re- advertised, Mr.Sparr
would put up a cash bond of at least 6300,000.00 as guarantee that he would
purchase the bonds at par.
In the matter of the option on Lot 1 Block 22 of Newport Beach
requested b3 *i.C.Burris, the comittee reported that inasmuch as ther is no
other city property in that vicinity, it was their recommeddation that the
property be kept by the City of Negport Beach. On motion of Trustee Richter
seconded by Trustee Sloan, and carried, the report was accepted and the
committee discharged.
Representatives of the Santa Ana Symphony Orchestra presented
the board. of Trustees with a plan for suruier concerts in this city. The
matter was discussed and referred to a committee of Trustees Richter, and
Sloan, -,rho 'sere instructed to get in touch with Advertisint* manager Welch
and ordered to report at the next meeting.
Fire Chief, Jackson asked the Board of Trustees for the authority
to purchase some new equipment. The matter was discussed and on motion of
Trustee Wilhinson seconded by trustee Richter and carried, Fire Chief
Jackson, ;ras authorized to purchase 150e00 worth of equipment for the month
of January.
A communication signed by Paul B.E1lswo-rth, L." Briggs, Glenn
'Vallace and C.H.'7ay requesting better water conditions in the city, was
presented to the Board of Trustees. On motion of Trustee Sloan seconded by
trustee Wilkinson, and cattied, City engineer Kressly was instructed to
preparb engineering data at once for wa.ted lines a one million and one half
.gallon reservoir and duplicate of the present pumping unit and cast iron
mains as are needed. City Engineer Kressly stated that he would have plans
as called for by January 26,1925.
On motion of Trustee Wilkinson seconded by trustee Sloan, and
carried, the damands as approved by the finance cor iittee were allowed and
warrants ordered drawn.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned to
11onday January 12,1925, at 7:30 P.M..
