The Board of Trustees of the City of I1evr?ort Beach, 22et in
regular session on the above date. The meetinr• was called to order by
rresident reo.P.Jilson. The roll :gas called,showing Trustee Conrad Richter
absent on leave and Trustee did not answer but came in later.
This being the hour set for the opening^ of rids on City
printing, the Clerk nreceeded to open said bids, The nem)ort Ha7,bor pub-
lishing Conpany and the Balboa Bulletin being the only bidders. There
being some .uestion Hf the legality of one of the bids, piainly that of
the Balboa Bulletin, all bids were referred to city* Attorney Bishop
for consideration. I
This being the first regular m eti.ng of the Board of Trustees
of the the city of Newport Beach, neat succeeding the second_ clay o.i

taxes clai, -ti;l„ that an erroneous assessment had been made. There being no

. A communication from t:ie Sims Guidel Company, offering; for sale
a site for, school pun ?oses on Corona. Del Tear, was ordered forwarded to
to :'_ie Prosident of -he School Board for their consideration and t'le Clerk
ordered to.write the Sims G.idel Company as to the action of '.he Board.
A communication from the Banks Huntley and Co. inquiring as to
t'le issuance of 42350,000.00 crater �onds was referred to the City Clerk,

to c.le pity `dater Superintendent.
Request to build r pier on Lot 1 Block 21 of Balboa Tract
East Side Addition, Ben Cope Contractor, was referred to City* Engincer
I_ressl-; for two creeks.
Advertising 1Tanager Harry - Uelch, submitted to the Boar(I, the
p,onosition of leasing 100 feet of city property along; the Bay F =-ont to tie
Southern Branch of the University of California,if that school located
at Fullerton. On motion of Trustee I-Jill;ir? son seconded by trustee Sloan,
and carried, advertising manager ':,!etch., was instructed tl: at the ..ity of
Netv)ortBe:.ch .would lease 100 feet or more of land on Ileq :ort Harbor at
,1.00 per year for t•.rontyfive.years to the Southern Branch of the University
of California, >rovided that Fullerton be found to be the choice of the
Regents for the location of the school.
