Approved - _ J Attest City Hall Newport Beach,June 18th,1925 Pursuant to a call thereof by the President of the Board of Trustees and Notice delivered to each member of the Board at least three hours before the time specified for the meeting, the Board of Trustees net at the place and on the date mentioned at 7 :30 o'clock P.M. The meeting was called to order by President Geo.P.Wilson* The Roll was called showing the full Board. The call was read and the Board proceeded to consider the sub- ' jects for which the meeting was called. Trustee Wilkinson moved the final passage of ORDINANCE NO.279. An Ordinance of the City of Newport Beach Amending Section -42 of Ordinance No, 110 of said City, concerning the annual rate of ieense for Plumbing and House Drainage within said City, which motion wa se- conded by Trustee Young and upon call of the roll passed by the Following vote. Ayes: Trustees Geo*P.Vlilson, H.C.Sloan, Fred Young, Conrad Richter and L.S.Willcinson. Noes: Trustees, None Absent: Trustees, None. On motion of Trustee Sloan, seconded by Trustee Iffilkinson and carried, Anton Deraga was appointRd to serve as head of the Life Saving and Pilot Service of the City of ewport each at a salary of $25,00 per month,said salary to be paid out of the S'lary Fund, the duties of the office to be those as set forth in Ordinance Noo 278; of the City of Newport Beach. On motion of Trustee Young, seconded by 'trustee 'Rilkinson and carried, the following water rates were adopted for the City of Newport Beach, said rates to be immediately in full force and effect. Any connection up to one inch,m inch or smaller $20.00 per con® ' nection. For a connection of one inch ----------- - - - - -- -25.00 For a connection of One and One Half inches - -- 35.00 - For a connection of Two inches---------- - - - - -- 75900. " An additional not to exceed $lo.00 per connection where in the opinion of the Water Supt, a reducing valve is necessary. The above prices and rates to prevail in all cases provided that the connection be located within 100 feet of a water main. On motion of Trustee Sloan,seconded by Trustee Richter and carried the Stree Supt.was authorised to shale a road 12 ft in width on Marguerite Ave from its intersection with the Coast Boulevard to Ocean Ave. Said improvement to cost $300.00 for which payment is to be made Dec.1,1925, a IM A communication was received from NIr J.A.Pritzer of Placentia regarding the overloading of boats going to and from the risging Barge. - The matter was referred to Trustee Richter and the communication was ordered returned to Mr Harry lelch, to whom the communication was addressed. A communication from Balboa Cleaner.Er Grebe regarding a raise in the present License for Cleaners was laid over and referred to the City Attorney. A communication was received from I,Ir Geo.Heiner requesting a 3 year lease on the Newport Pier for his Bait Concession. The matter was laid ' over for consideration. A complaint was received from Lew Wallace about the alledged removal of dirt along Tract L444. The communication was referred to the Street Superintendent with instructions to post signs prohibiting the removal of Dirt along Smeltzer Ave., There being no further business, on motion of Trustee Young,seconded by Trustee Sloan and carried, the meeting was adjourned SINE DIE. Requests were received from R.J.Shaffery?Qdger Brothers and an association of Dr.Chas.Irvin,llr Shafer and R.B.Goff for the landing priviledge on the "Balboa Pier. The matter was discussed and on motion ' of Trustee 1" Jilkinson,seconded by Trustee Sloan and carried, the City, Clerk was ordered to advertise for sealed bids to be opened July 6th,1!�e 5 at 7 :30 o'clock P.M.for a landing concession on the Balboa Pier. Said landing to be constructed according to the plans and specifications on file at the office of the City C16rk. Bids will be considered from the standpoint of the best proposition submitted, class of Barge, safety , measures prdvided,.amlunt of revenue to be paid to,the City of Newport and general'reliability of the persons applying for the concession,will be taken into consideration. The Board of Trustees of said city reserve the right to reject any and all bids, There being no ,further business on motion of Trustee l�Jilkinson, seconded by Trustee Sloan and carried, the meeting was adjourned SINE DIE.
