STREET: Gordon and Garfield POLICE: Whitson and Claire. FIRE, WATER, LIGHT AND SEWER: Garfield and Whitson. ADVERTISING: Whitson and Claire. There being a vacancy on the Planning Commission due to the resignation of C. F. Dennison, the Mayor appointed Paul A. Palmer for the unexpired term. ADJOURNMENT There it was moved by carried, that an .Y being no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Claire, seconded by Councilman Gordon and adjournment be taken Sine Die. Newport Beach, May 5, 1936. 217 A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, duly called and accepted by the members of the City Council, was held at 5 o'clock P. M. on above date with Mayor Williamson presiding. The meeting was called for the purpose of acquiring easements, title and control of certain Ocean Front property at Washington and Palm Streets and further for the purpose of considering any other matters that would lawfully come before the Council in connection with the above. The roll was called showing the full Council present with the exception of Councilman Garfield who was absent on account of illness. The call for the special meeting was read by the Clerk, and upon motion by.Councilman Claire, seconded by Councilman Gordon & carried, vfi ed. A Deed of Right of Way dated the 4th day of May, 1936, from Balboa Beach Amusement Company, a corporation, granting and dedicating to the City of Newport Beach, a Municipal corporation of the sixth class, all of.the right, title and interest of the Balboa Beach Amusement Company, in and to the real property hereinafter described, for public street and road purposes and uses only, and subject to incumbrances or record and tax and assessment liens, and covering all that certain real property situated in the city of Newport Beach, County of Orange, State of California, described as follows: . Parcel 1. All of Lot "C" of the Balboa Tract as shown on map recorded in Book 4, page 11, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California. 21-.s. Parcel 2. All that portion of Lot "D ", Balboa Tract, as shown on map recorded in Book 4, page 11 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California, lying northwesterly of the southwesterly prolongation of the southeasterly line of Lot 11, Block 10, of said Balboa Tract. Parcel 3. All that portion of Lot "B ", Balboa Tract, -as shown on map recorded in Book 4, page 11 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California, lying southeasterly of the southwesterly porlongation of the northwesterly line of Lot 15, Block 6, of said Balboa Tract. was presented to the City Council ofthe city of Newport Beach, California. WHEREUPON, Councilman Gordon made a motion, duly seconded by Councilman Claire and carried, that said Deed of Right of Way be accepted by said city of Newport Beach, and the Clerk instructed to record the same forthwith with the County Recorder of Orange County, California. That said motion was carried by the following vote, to -wit: AYES: Councilmen Gordon, Claire, Williamson. NOES: Councilmen None. ABSENT: Councilman Garfield NOT VOTING: Councilman Whitson. I hereby certify the foregoing to be a true extract from the minutes of the City Council of the city of Newport ANach at a Special meeting thereof held on the 5th of y L36. Attest: ity Clerk of the .16y of Newport Beach A Quitclaim Deed dated the 4th day of May, 1936, from Balboa Beach Amusement Company, a corporation, remising, releasing and quit_ claiming to the city of Newport Beach, a Municipal Corporation of the sixth class of Orange County, California, and-to-its successors and assigns forever, all that certain real property situated in the city of Newport Beach, County of Orange, State of California, and more parts- cularly described as follows, towit: Any and all tide lands lying between the southwesterly line of Block "C" of the Balboa Tract as laid out and shown upon a map thereof, recorded in Book 4, page 11, of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California, and a line parall- el to and 150 feet measured normal thereto, southwesterly of the southwesterly line of Surf Avenue, as-said Surf Avenue is laid out and shown upon said Map of the Balboa Tract, and between the southwesterly prolongation of the southeasterly line of Palm Street and the southwesterly prolongation of the northwesterly line of Washington Street, as said Palm Street and Washington Street are laid out and shown upon said map of BalboaTract; also all tide lands lying between the southwesterly line of Block "B" of said Balboa Tract, and a line parallel to and 150 feet measured normal thereto, south- westerly of the southwesterly line of Surf Avenue, as Surf Avenue is laid out and shown upon said Map of the Balboa Tract, and lying between the southwesterly prolongation of the northwesterly line of Lot 15, of Block 6, of said Balboa Tract and the northwesterly-line of, Palm Street, as said Palm Street is laid out and shown upon said Map of the Balboa Tract. was presented to the city Council of the city of Newport Beach, California. J, 219 WHEREUPON, Councilman Claire made a motion duly seconded by Councilman Gordon and carried, that said Quitclaim Deed be accepted by said city of Newport Beach, and the Clerk instructed to record the same forthwith with the County Recorder of Orange County, California. That said motion was carried by the following vote, to-wit: AXES: Councilmen Gordon, Claire, Williamson. NOES: Councilmen None. ABSENT: Councilman Garfield, NOT VOTING: Councilman Whitson.
