Newport Beach, January 13, 1937.
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach met in adjourned
regular session in the City Council Chambers at the City Hall in the
City of Newport Beach at 7:30 P. M. on above date with Dkayor Williamson
presiding.
The roll was called and the following Councilmen answered
present: Gordon, Claire, iihitson, Garfield, Williamson. ' Absen_t,•Coun-
cilmen None.

COMMUNICATIONS None.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS None.
NEW BUSINESS
City Engineer Patterson advised that the bids received for
the construction of the sewer system, together with the recommendation
of the City Counctl had been submitted to and received the approval of
the P. W. A. authorities for the City of Newport Beach to proceed with
the.sewer project, the Council's action being acknowledgement of their
letter, which on motion of Councilman Claire; seconded by Councilman
Garfield and carried, was ordered filed.
Resolution No. 1016 was presented, being a resolution reject-
ing all bids submitted for the construction of the sewer system with
the exception of that of the Drainage Construction Company, the lowest
responsible bidders, awarding the contract of the construction of
said sewer system to said Drainage Construction Company, and authorizing
the Mayor and City Clerk to execute a contract in the name of and on
behalf of the City of Newport Beach with said Drainage Construction
Company. The adoption of the resolution was moved by Councilman Claire,
seconded by Councilman Whitson and was passed by the following vote to-
wit:
AYES: Councilmen Gordon, Claire, Whitson, Garfield, "Williamson.
NOES: Councilmen None.
ABSENT: Councilmen None.
The demands of Glenn E. Liller and Currie Engineering Company
having been duly audited by the Finance Committee were on motion of
Councilman Claire, seconded by Councilman Garfield and carried, allowed
and warrants ordered drawn for same.
ADJOURNIAENT
On motion of Councilman Claire, seconded by Councilman Whitson
