The City Council of the City of Newport Beach met in special
session in the council chambers of the City Hall at the hour of 10:00
A.M., with the following members present:
Councilmen TGteeley,Ramsey,Blue and Isbell, Councilman Finch
being absent.
The Mayor asked if any of the councilmen or anyone in the
' audience wished the minutes of the previous meeting or any part ther-
eof, read. No one responded and the reading of the minutes was waived.
Mayor Isbell stated that the meeting was called for the pur-
pose of considering condemnation of four lots in China Cove belonging
to Dudley Furse, consent and waiver of notice of the special meeting
being on file in the office of the City Clerk.
On motion of Councilman Ramsey, seconded by Councilman
Greeley, Resolution No. 3913, being a resolution finding it neces-
sary to acquire certain property owned by Dudley R. Furse and Louise
D. Furse, with the Irvine Company and the Citizens National Bank of
Los Angeles claiming certain interest therein, was presented. The
Furses having refused to sell the property to the City at a fair and
reasonable price, the Council finds it necessary to institute condem-
nation proceedings for the acquisition of the property for park pur-
poses, and Resolution No. 3913, authorizing such action, on:,motion
of Councilman Bluq, seconded by Councilman Greeley, was adopted by
the following roll call vote:
' AYES, COUNCILMEN: Ramsey, Greeley, Blue, Isbell
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT COUNCILMEN: Finch
On motion of Councilman Greeley, seconded by Councilman
Blue, the meeting was adjourned to August 27th, 1951.
