The application of Evan D. Jones to construct a pier and
float at Lot 2, Block 9, Section Z Balboa Island, having been denied Jones, r3-er a. float
by the Harbor Commission, at the last meeting, was denied on motion of a�;1. eniec.
Councilman Greeley, seconded by Councilman Blue and the following roll
call vote:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Finch, Ramsey, Blue, Greeley, Isbell
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT COUNCILMEN: None
The City Manager stated that he had received an offer from
Gordon B. Findlay to furnish and install 12 -inch bronze Roman letters Nai<< Letter's r "o?_ City
on the City Hall Tower as follows: "NEWPORT BEACH CITY HALL ", to re- H-11 Sir-n.
place the present painted "City Hall" sign, at a total cost of $428.50,
installed. On motion of Councilman Finch, seconded by Councilman Ramsey,
the work was authorized by the following roll call vote:
AYES, COUNCILMEN, Finch, Ramsey, Blue, Greeley, Isbell
NOES COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT COUNCILMEN: None
The City Manager stated that the highest offer he had received
' for the Harbor Department patrol boat, "Paddy ", was $375.00. He said that Re ^,.,llin[-
in his opinion the price was too low, and asked authority to attempt to !'Furor 30=t Pr0(7_�7
sell the boat through a broker. On motion of Councilman Greeley, seconded
by Councilman Blue and carried, authority was granted.
The City Manager stated that uniform costs and cleaning ex-
penses were working an undue hardship on uniformed members of the Police Uniform 7.loz,�.nce
Force, and recommended a $$10.00 monthly allowance for uniform upkeep. for )olice
On motion of Councilman Finch, seconded by Councilman Blue, the request
was granted by the following roll call vote:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Finch, Ramsey, Blue, Greeley, Isbell
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT COUNCILMEN: None
The City Manager requested permission to take a week's vacation
beginning December 24th, and that City Manager J. B. Webb be appointed City Cit, ?; <r. to '_�iovc

and carried, the meeting was adjourned, sine die.

The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of New-
port Beach was called in the council chambers of the City Hall at the
hour of 7:30 P.M.
There being no members of the City Council present, the
meeting was adjourned to Wednesday, December 26th, at the hour of 10
o'clock A.M.
