The City Council of the City of Newport Beach met in ,
Adjourned regular meeting adjourned regular session at the hour of 9000 a.m. in the

The roll was called, the following members answering
Roll Call presents Smith, Bennett, and Hill-, Councilmen Broering and
Miller being absent:
Engr. recommended that bid The City Engineer reported that he had investigated the
for demolition of water bids for the demolition of the water booster plant on Bayside
plant be awarded to Walter Drive in Corona del Mar and recommended that the bid be awarded
E. Hesse to the low bidder, Walter E. Hesse in the amount of $39008.
On motion of Councilman Smith, seconded by Councilman
Resolution No. 4266 Bennett, Resolution No. 4266, being a resolution authorizing
the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the contradt was adopted
Authorizing execution of by the following roll call vote, to wit: '

AYES, COUNCILMEN: Smith, Bennett, Hill
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT COUNCILMEN: Broering and Miller
Sully= - Miller granted 60 day Sully 'Miller Contracting Company requested a sixty (60) .
extension on CDM alley work day extension on the improvement of the alleys southwesterly
of the highway in Corona del Mar. On motion of Councilman
Bennett, seconded by Councilmah Smith and carried, the request
was granted.
Pier Permit A -497 trans- On motion of Councilman Smith, seconded by Councilman '
ferred to Parker approved. Bennett and carried, transfer of Pier Permit No. A -497 to
the name of Parker, covering property at 503 Edgewater
Balboa, was approved.
C. Ngro to call for bids The City Manager was granted permission to call for
for street sweeper bids for a new street sweeper to replace one in service on
motion of Councilman Bennett, seconded by Councilman Smith
and carried.
C. Engr. to negotiate for The City Engineer was granted the requested authority
construction of vault to to negotiate for the construction of a vault at the Bayside
house pump at Bayside Dr. Drive water plant to house the remaining pump on motion of
water plant. Councilman Smith, seconded by Councilman Bennett and carried
by the following roll call vote, to wits
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Smith, Bennett and Hill
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT COUNCILMEN3 Broering and Miller
Nelda Gibson permit to The application of Nelda Gibson for a permit to
creak curb at 126 Amethyst break the curb at 126 Amethyst Avenue, Balboa Island, was
Denied denied on motion of Councilman Smith, seconded by Councilman
Hill and carried.
On motion of Councilman Smith, seconded by Councilman
Adjournment Bennett and carried, the council adjourned, sine die. '
