Mayor Hart opened the Special Meeting which he had called
for the purpose-of c onside ring, ,the Resolution requesting the
State Highway Commission to appropriate funds -for the. New-
port Boulevard - Via Lido traffic signal improvement.
The Notice of Special Meeting, signed by the Mayor and
.bearing the Consent and Waiver of all the Councilmen to

hold said meeting, was,in the possession of the City Clerk.
A discussion was had.
esolution No. 5772, authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk
to execute a.contract with.the State of California, providing
for the. installation of a traffic control. signal system and
highway lighting at the intersection of Finley Avenue. with
Newport Boulevard, modification of the existing traffic con-
