M. Place of Meeting: Council Chambers Roll Call: P Present x x x x Consideration was given to the Preliminary Annual Budget for the Fiscal Year 1965 -66 as presented by the City Manager: I 1. Consideration was given to the additional cost of space needs estimated on June 8 to be $8, 414. The City Manager stated that additional communication costs in the amount of $30 for the first year (and $25 for subsequent years) for the Building Department, and a cash register for the Building Department in the amount of $465, would be needed; and that a posture chair and a desk totalling $180, to be used by the Finance Department, would be necessary. The proposed additional space plan was approved in M Motion principle. A Ayes x x x x Z. Consideration was again given to the City Council Budget, Account 0137, Departmental Meetings. Consideration was given to the Planning Budget. fining Planning Director Jerry Drawdy spoke from the audience. The Planning Budget was approved as it stands. The City Manager stated that Account 1468, "Insuranc - Hull," Nondepartmental Budget should be in the Life- guard Budget. Account 1468 was eliminated from the Nondepartmenta Motion x Budget. Chief of Police Glavas spoke from the audience and asked that the Council think in the terms of authorizing him to do what they did before and overhire to over- authorize for the purposes of giving him a degree of latitude where he has a long term illness and would run short.
