Consideration was given to the Preliminary Annual Budget
for the Fiscal Year 1965 -66 as presented by the City
Manager: I
1. Consideration was given to the additional cost of
space needs estimated on June 8 to be $8, 414. The
City Manager stated that additional communication
costs in the amount of $30 for the first year (and $25
for subsequent years) for the Building Department,
and a cash register for the Building Department in the
amount of $465, would be needed; and that a posture
chair and a desk totalling $180, to be used by the
Finance Department, would be necessary.

of Police Glavas spoke from the audience and asked
that the Council think in the terms of authorizing him
to do what they did before and overhire to over-
authorize for the purposes of giving him a degree of
latitude where he has a long term illness and would
run short.

9. Consideration was given to the possibility of a harbor
patrol as an extension of police service. A discussio

The possibility of using revenue funds. from tidelands
and submerged lands for the purchase of a patrol boat
in connection with this, was discussed.
