Mayor Marshall opened the continued public hearing in
connection with the Preliminary Annual Budget for the
Fiscal Year 1968 -69.
Mayor Mar -shall inquired if anyone present desired to be
heard. No one spoke from the audience at that time.
1. The General Services - Administrative Budget,
Activity No. 3100, as proposed, was tentatively ap-
proved..
2. The General Services - Field Maintenance Budget,
Activity No. 3300, as proposed, was tentatively ap-
proved.
3. The General Services - Traffic Signs and Markings
Budget, Activity No. 3600, as proposed, was
tentatively approved.
4. The General Services - Refuse, Activity No. 5000,
as proposed, was tentatively approved.
5. The General Services - Equipment Maintenance
Budget, Activity No. 5200, as proposed, was tenta-
tively approved.
6. The General Services - Building Maintenance Budget,
Activity No. 1000, as proposed, was tentatively ap-
proved.
7. The Parks, Beaches and Recreation - Administrative
Budget, Activity No. 7500, as proposed, was tenta-
tively approved.
8. The Parks, Beaches and Recreation - Recreation
Budget, Activity.No. 7600, as proposed, was tenta-
tively approved.
9• The Parks, Beaches and Recreation - Parks, Park -.
ways, Etc, Budget, Activity No. 7700, as proposed,
was tentatively approved.
10. The Parks, Beaches and Recreation - Recreation -
Self Supporting Budget, Activity No. 7800, as pro-
posed, was tentatively approved.

Aon:Elder, representing the Balboa Peninsula Point Associ
ation; spoke from the audience and presented a letter to
the Council from the Association expressing concern about
the tax increase, protesting increased cost in adminis-
trative personnel and stating that a police boat would be
overlapping responsibilities.
The public hearing in connection with the Preliminary
Motion

It was the consensus of the Council that the staff be directe

to prepare a statement, similar to the Council statement
'X-
to the Board of Supervisors, to be presented at the June 24
meeting of the Orange County League of Cities meeting in
connection with the Briggs Bill which proposes to present
the question of dissolution of the Harbor District to the
voters in November; and the City Attorney was authorized
to attend the meeting and to present said statement.
The meeting was adjourned at 10: 15 A. M.
