appeal of E. O. Rodeffer from the decision of the
Planning Commission denying Use Permit Application
No. 1479 requesting permission for a rooftop heliport
in Newport Center, portion of Block 93, Irvine's
Subdivision, located on the northwest corner of San
Nicolas Drive and future Avocado Drive, zoned
C- O -H -UL.
A report was presented from the Planning Director.
A letter was presented from Sam Keyes, President
of the Harbor View Hills Community Association,
enclosing letters from the following homeowners
associations, representing more than 700 families
in Corona del Mar, requesting that Council deny Use
Permit No. 1479: Har'boxView Hills Community

Association, Broadmoor Hills Community Associ-
ation, Harbor View - Broadmoor Community
Association and Harbor View Hills Homeowners
Association.
City Clerk :Laura. Lagios stated that a letter had
been received from Phyllis Taylor protesting the
heliport. Planning Director' Larry Wilson gave a

from the audience. Sam Keyes, representing variou
homeowner groups in Corona del Mar, requested
