HEARINGS:
1. Mayor Pro Tern Rogers opened the public hearing to

review the Orange County Planning Department's
Growth
Growth Policy Report, entitled "People, Policy and
Policy
Growth - -A New Direction? "
A report was presented from the Community Develop-
ment Department.
A letter was presented from the Orange County
Planning Director stating that arrangements had
'
been made for a County Planning Commissioner to be
present at subject hearing.
Mayor Pro Tern Rogers announced that Al Bell of the
County Planning Department and Roger Slates, Chair-
man of the Orange County Planning Commission, were
present to answer any questions Council might have.
Al Bell, Principal Planner for the Orange County
Planning Department, addressed the Council.
Councilman Store joined the meeting and took his place at
the Council table.
The following people addressed the Council: Barbara
Eastman representing the Orange County League of
Women Voters, James Parker representing Newport
Harbor Chamber of Commerce, and Gilbert W.
Ferguson representing C. E. E. E. D.

mission were directed to appoint a joint Council -

Planning Commission committee to put together
recommendations that the joint City Council and
Planning Commission can approve and incorporate

in making recommendations to the County of Orange,
the League of Cities and the Intergovernmental Co-
ordinating Council.
