"I can't support the re- opening of wages
and benefits as requested by the Police
Employee's Association because I believe it

is not in the beet interests of the City or
the Police Association.
"Negotiations did occur and resulted in
impasses, as you know, and the Council is
now taking a step with which I disagree.
There is questionable benefit to the
younger members of the Department, and I
believe this matter could have been better
handled with more equity for all concerned."
