A. ROLL CALL.
The Mayor announced that the purpose of this
meeting was to consider two items:
MINUTES
1. Proposed Argument in Favor of Proposition M,
Increasing the Transient Occupancy Tax from
6% to 8 %, Ballot Measure at the November 3,
1981 Consolidated Election, and
2. Request of Big Canyon Country Club to conduct
Fireworks display on August 22, 1981.
PROPOSED ARGUMENT IN FAVOR OF MEASURE M, was presented
as drafted by the City Manager's office.
The City Attorney cited Section 5013 of the Elections
Code pertaining to Written Arguments, and the
authority to sign same.
Discussion ensued wherein portions of the proposed
argument were revised.
Following discussion, motion was made to approve the
Argument in favor of Measure M, as revised; said
document to be signed by the Mayor on behalf of the
City Council.
REQUEST OF BIG CANYON TO CONDUCT FIREWORKS DISPLAY
ON AUGUST 22, 1981, was presented by the City Manager.
Motion was made to approve the request as submitted.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 a.m..
