The City Council met in Study Session to
review the beginning portion of the
Preliminary Budget for 1994 -95.

The Finance Director gave an overview of
the Summary section of the Budget, i.e.,
Revenue Expenditures, Operating
Expenditures, Fund Transfers, and Year
End Fund Balances - Proposed. He noted
that Trust Funds are not listed in the
the Preliminary Budget, but rather in
the City's Annual Financial Report. In
concluding his presentation, he
emphasized that the proposed Budget is
only an estimate and plan of operation.
At this time, the City Council reviewed
the following Departmental budgets, with
staff present to answer questions:
City Council
City Manager
City Attorney
City Clerk
Assistant City Manager
Personnel
Finance
Marine
Marina Park
The City Manager noted that the City
Council would be reviewing Police and
Fire budgets at the May 23 afternoon
Council meeting; Planning, Building,
Public Works, Community Services and
General Services on June 9 at 2:00 p.m. ;
and Utilities and Capital Projects on
June 13 at 2:00 p.m. The public hearing
on the Budget will be June 13 at 7:00
p.m.
Meeting adjourned at 4:15 p.m.
The agenda for this meeting was posted
on May 13, 1994, at 12:35 p.m., on the
City Hall Bulletin Board located outside
of the City of Newport Beach
Administration Building.
