Action Plan for Fire Prevention
• Adopt amendments to Chapter 49 (Wildland) of the Fire Code to include
additional authority for the Fire Chief and Fire Marshal to identify wildland-urban
interface properties for defensible space inspections
• Update City guidelines for Hazard Reduction Zones by adopting new spacing
requirements between shrubs/bushes and trees to reduce vegetation fuel loads,
with option to participate in the Fuel Modification program
• Change the existing alternating year vegetatioanagement inspection program
to an annual program for all identified wildland-urban interface properties
